Original job description

Req ID:531640

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Take on a new challenge and apply your systems engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and forward-thinking teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the performance, reliability, and functionality of our train systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (RAM engineers, Train Validation Engineers, Certification & Authorization managers), lead technical discussions with customers, and oversee the development and validation of train systems, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of converting customer and regulatory requirements into train-level specifications, but also ensure the resolution of technical issues during revenue service.

We’ll look to you for:

Acting as the main technical focal point for train performance topics with customers
Leading train system development and validation, including operability analysis, system definition, and architecture
Ensuring conversion of customer and regulatory requirements into train-level specifications
Collaborating with sub-system groups to define functional analysis, specifications, and architecture
Overseeing requirements allocation to sub-systems, including electrical and functional interface definitions
Leading verification and validation activities at the system level
Driving technical issue resolution during train revenue service

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Degree in Engineering or a related field
Experience or understanding of systems engineering, requirements management, and validation processes
Knowledge of train system architecture and performance analysis
Familiarity with regulatory standards and customer requirement conversion
A certification in systems engineering or a related field
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.

Bilingualism
Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers. In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.
