Job details

Job type: Full-time
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering project management, ideally in a customer‑facing environment
Posting language: English
Posted: Apr 17, 2026

Original job description

Req ID: 513514

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Your Future Role

Take on a new challenge and leverage your expertise in project engineering within a cutting‑edge rail environment. In this key role, you will be responsible for post‑sales/post‑warranty engineering and technical support for customers, across a portfolio of modernization, overhaul, and repair projects. You will work within collaborative and innovative teams, directly contributing to the delivery of safe, reliable, and high‑performance transportation solutions throughout the entire asset lifecycle.

You will be specifically responsible for overseeing engineering deliverables in a customer support context, ensuring compliance with post‑warranty contractual requirements, and contributing to cross‑functional projects requiring tailored technical solutions. As needed, you will also support tendering activities by defining technical solutions and committing engineering effort estimates for the various project phases.

On a day‑to‑day basis, you will act as the engineering focal point for customer projects after entry into service, working closely with internal teams (sourcing, supply chain, engineering, industrial operations), as well as with Alstom Services NAM teams and other global units. You will ensure coordination of engineering activities, manage customer interfaces, and monitor technical commitments while effectively controlling risks and opportunities associated with the post‑sales scope.

Your Key Responsibilities

Coordinate all engineering activities related to post‑sales/post‑warranty customer support across multiple, multi‑site projects
Act as the primary technical interface with customers on engineering matters
Ensure engineering deliverables meet contractual, regulatory, and internal requirements
Manage engineering budgets and ensure cost efficiency
Deliver projects on time and in line with quality commitments
Identify, assess, and manage risks and opportunities related to the engineering scope
Support tendering activities as Technical Bid Leader, when required

Your Profile

We value passion and mindset just as much as experience. You are not expected to meet every requirement; however, the following qualifications will help you succeed and thrive in this role:

Engineering degree or related field (equivalent experience may substitute for formal education)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in engineering project management, ideally in a customer‑facing environment
Experience in the railway sector, particularly in rolling stock design, modernization, or in‑service support, strongly preferred
Proven experience managing complex projects with direct customer interaction
Strong management, coordination, and cross‑functional leadership skills
Fluency in English required
Willingness to travel up to 20% within the NAM region, with occasional travel to Europe

What You’ll Enjoy

Join us for a new life experience. Rail is a future‑focused industry, offering continuous opportunities to grow, develop new skills, and gain diverse experiences throughout your career. You will also benefit from:

Stability, challenge, and long‑term career opportunities without daily routine
Participation in innovative projects
A flexible and inclusive work environment
The ability to shape your career path across functions and countries
Investment in your development through award‑winning learning programs
Opportunities to progress into leadership roles or alternative career paths
A fair and dynamic compensation system that recognizes performance and potential, along with a comprehensive and competitive benefits package (life insurance, health coverage, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note

As a global business, we’re an equal-opportunity employer that celebrates diversity across the 63 countries we operate in. We’re committed to creating an inclusive workplace for everyone.

Bilingualism

In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company. When working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers, proficiency in English is required and knowledge of a third language is considered an asset.
