Project Details

The consultant will design, develop, configure, integrate, test, and support Guidewire ClaimCenter solutions within a modern Java and microservices environment, collaborating with business, technology, external, and digital stakeholders (including web, mobile, and customer experience teams) to deliver secure and scalable integrations. The role covers the full SDLC, from requirements analysis and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and production support/enhancements.

Day to day activities:

Build and maintain APIs/microservices (Java, Spring Boot) handling claim intake data from the mobile app/web portal
Work within Guidewire ClaimCenter (Gosu) to understand and support triggers/automation once claims land in the system
Collaborate closely with the team's dedicated QA to support and help build out test automation practices
Work within the team's ~80/20 API-vs-Guidewire skew, bridging both sides rather than specializing in only one

Must-haves:

7+ years of Java (back-end) development experience, incl. Spring Boot and microservices/API development
7+ years of experience with Guidewire ClaimCenter, Gosu, and Guidewire integration frameworks
Ability to support the full software development lifecycle (design → build → test → deploy → production support)
Experience with REST API integration
AWS cloud experience

Nice to have:

Experience with Kafka
Experience with Apigee
Prior insurance/claims domain experience
Comfortable supporting test automation practices alongside a dedicated QA
Tools / software / methodology / certification: Guidewire ACE certification à nice to have
Soft skills: Team collaboration, ability to work well with QA/BA/Scrum Master in a small squad

ALTEN Canada fosters a dynamic, collaborative work environment where every team member is empowered to reach their full potential. We are deeply committed to investing in our people by offering meaningful experiences and supporting continuous learning, growth, and career development

At ALTEN Canada, your skills are celebrated, your ambitions supported, and your growth continuously nurtured. Join us and discover the difference of working with a company that values innovation, collaboration, and excellence, where endless possibilities await.

ALTEN CANADA is committed to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. We strive to provide a work environment where every individual feels welcomed, valued, and respected, allowing them to thrive to their full potential. This includes our dedication to offer accessibility measures to those who require them. Should you require any accommodation during our recruitment process, please reach out to us.

Alten uses artificial intelligence tools to support certain administrative aspects of the recruitment process, such as interview note-taking and résumé formatting. These tools do not make hiring decisions. Candidate consent is always obtained prior to use.

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $120,000 per year OR $85/HR
