About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established public sector organization, is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to support accounting operations during a busy period of financial reporting, audit preparation and year-end activities. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional ready to take the next step into leadership.

You'll join a stable, collaborative team of five accounts payable and receivable professionals who take pride in their work. Your ability to build trust, support colleagues and balance day-to-day priorities with key financial deliverables will make a meaningful impact.

What's in it for You

A supportive, experienced team that values collaboration and work-life balance.
An opportunity to strengthen your leadership experience and gain exposure to key financial processes.
A stable environment with established processes, training resources and opportunities to contribute.
Potential consideration for permanent opportunities as organizational needs evolve.

Your Responsibilities

You'll oversee daily accounts payable and receivable operations, supporting a team of five professionals.
You'll coordinate accounting activities across regional offices, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
You'll lead key reconciliations, financial reporting deliverables and year-end billing statement processes.
You'll support audit preparation, working closely with stakeholders to meet deadlines.
You'll resolve escalations, address discrepancies and provide hands-on support when needed.
You'll build strong relationships across the team while identifying opportunities to improve workflows.

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally including AP/AR oversight, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Previous supervisory experience or demonstrated readiness to transition into a leadership role.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls and year-end processes.
CPA designation considered an asset, although extensive relevant experience is equally valued.
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is an asset, with training resources available.
A collaborative, approachable leadership style with the flexibility to roll up your sleeves and support the team.
Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and manage competing priorities.
