About the Opportunity

Are you a compensation professional who enjoys turning data into meaningful business decisions? We're partnering with a leading Canadian organization in the infrastructure sector to hire a Specialist, Compensation. This is an opportunity to play a key role in shaping compensation programs that support thousands of employees while partnering closely with HR, business leaders, and executives.

You'll join a collaborative, close-knit Total Rewards team where you'll have the opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work, contribute to strategic compensation initiatives, and help drive continuous improvement. If you're looking for a role where your expertise is valued and your work has a direct impact, this could be the next step in your career.

What's In It for You

Join a collaborative team that values partnership, accountability, and continuous learning.

Take ownership of meaningful compensation programs with exposure to enterprise-wide initiatives.

Expand your expertise across compensation, incentives, market benchmarking, and Total Rewards projects.

Enjoy a hybrid work environment with flexibility while working alongside experienced Total Rewards professionals.

Your Responsibilities

You'll lead key components of the annual compensation cycle, including salary reviews, incentive planning, compensation summaries, and reporting.

You'll perform market pricing, compensation benchmarking, job evaluation, salary structure maintenance, and market position analysis across Canadian and U.S. employee groups.

You'll prepare, analyze, and validate compensation data using advanced Excel while developing reports and presentations for HR and business leaders.

You'll partner with stakeholders across HR and the business to provide compensation insights and support informed decision-making.

You'll contribute to ongoing compensation projects, including pay equity analysis, compliance initiatives, process improvements, and Total Rewards documentation.

Skills and Qualifications

3–6+ years of progressive, hands-on compensation or Total Rewards experience, with depth of experience valued over tenure.

Demonstrated experience supporting or owning annual compensation cycles, including salary reviews, bonus programs, and long-term incentives.

Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market pricing, job evaluation, salary benchmarking, and Canadian compensation legislation, particularly Ontario Pay Equity.

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, with the ability to analyze large datasets.

Experience using compensation survey providers such as Mercer or WTW is highly desirable.

Experience with SAP, SuccessFactors, or other HRIS platforms is considered an asset.

Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to present compensation information to leaders across the organization.

Note from the Hiring Manager

"We're looking for someone who enjoys getting into the details of compensation, takes ownership of their work, and is eager to contribute as a trusted member of a collaborative team. If you're someone who likes solving problems, building relationships, and continuously improving processes, we'd love to meet you."
