About the Opportunity

Altis Recruitment is partnering with our client for an experienced Manager, Leadership Development to join a large, complex organization in the Greater Toronto Area.

We’re looking for someone who has made leadership development their craft - someone who can take an organizational challenge, determine what leaders need to do differently, and turn that insight into a meaningful development experience.

This is a hands-on individual contributor role that combines consulting, program design, facilitation and execution. You’ll create approaches, build content, facilitate with leaders, advise senior stakeholders and adjust solutions based on what you learn along the way.

You’ll be joining a lean, collaborative team with a broad mandate and high standards for its work. Some initiatives will already be underway when you arrive, while others will need to be shaped from an early idea. Success will require someone who can manage multiple priorities, adapt as circumstances evolve and comfortably move between strategic thinking and hands-on delivery.

What’s in it for You

  • An opportunity to build meaningful leadership experiences from the ground up and see them through to delivery
  • Highly visible work with experienced leaders and senior stakeholders
  • A broad portfolio spanning leadership development, culture and behaviour change
  • The opportunity to influence solutions rather than simply deliver established programming
  • A hands-on role where you can combine consulting, design, facilitation and execution
  • A collaborative environment that values new thinking, strong judgement and high-quality work

Your Responsibilities

  • Diagnose leadership and development needs and translate them into practical solutions
  • Build leadership experiences from initial concept through content development, delivery and refinement
  • Create programming that responds to different leadership needs and levels of complexity
  • Facilitate engaging development experiences with experienced and senior audiences
  • Contribute to initiatives focused on leadership behaviour, culture and organizational effectiveness
  • Advise internal stakeholders on development needs, potential approaches and practical solutions
  • Manage multiple initiatives at different stages while maintaining a high standard of quality
  • Bring together internal expertise and external resources when specialized support is required
  • Gather feedback and use program insights and outcomes to improve development experiences over time
  • Bring relevant new thinking and practices into the organization while adapting them to its specific environment
  • Help turn ideas into practical, sustainable experiences that can operate effectively within a complex organization

Skills and Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience focused on leadership development, leadership effectiveness, talent development or closely related work
  • Demonstrated experience personally building substantial leadership programs or experiences - not simply coordinating or delivering established training
  • Experience working within, or consulting to, a large and organizationally complex environment
  • Strong facilitation skills, including experience working with senior and executive-level audiences
  • Strong presence, judgement and communication skills when working with experienced leaders
  • Ability to move comfortably between strategic advisory work and hands-on execution
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and maintain momentum in a changing, high-volume environment
  • Strong consulting, relationship-building and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a high standard for quality and attention to detail
  • Strong digital fluency, including comfort using modern productivity and AI-enabled tools to improve how you work

Experience with leadership coaching, culture or behaviour-change initiatives, psychometric or behavioural assessments, learning technology or digital content-development tools would be considered an asset. Coaching or assessment certifications would also be valuable.

Note from the Hiring Manager

“We’re looking for someone who brings both craft and ownership. This person needs to be able to understand the challenge, develop a point of view, build the solution and confidently bring it to life with leaders. They should be just as comfortable advising a senior stakeholder as they are rolling up their sleeves and doing the work.”
