Location: Downtown Vancouver, BC (Fully On-site, 5 days per week)

Language: Strong written and verbal English communication skills

Duration: 2-month contract with possibility of extension

Background Check Requirement: Background check and professional references required

Pay Rate: $23-26/hour

About the Opportunity

Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment? We’re looking for a Payroll Clerk to join a collaborative payroll team in downtown Vancouver for a 2-month contract, with the possibility of extension.

In this role, you’ll provide essential support during a busy period, helping ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity for someone with payroll or accounting experience who learns quickly, enjoys working with numbers, and can confidently manage competing priorities.

What’s In It for You

Gain hands-on experience supporting full-cycle payroll operations in a busy, team-oriented environment.

Work alongside experienced payroll and HR professionals who value accuracy, collaboration, and teamwork.

Build your payroll expertise while contributing to meaningful day-to-day operations.

Enjoy the potential for a contract extension based on business needs.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll support the payroll team with batch entry and processing of full-cycle, twice-monthly payroll.

You’ll process new hires and employee changes, ensuring payroll records remain accurate and up to date.

You’ll administer employee updates related to RRSP, Employee Share Purchase Plans (ESPP), payment elections, and tax elections.

You’ll prepare payroll reports, spreadsheets, and documentation to support accurate recordkeeping.

You’ll collaborate with payroll and HR colleagues to respond to employee inquiries and resolve payroll-related questions.

You’ll help maintain compliance with applicable payroll legislation, regulations, and best practices.

You’ll assist with ad hoc projects and additional payroll administration tasks as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

1–2 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or a finance-related role.

Experience supporting payroll processing or working within a finance team is preferred.

Working towards a payroll or accounting certification is considered an asset.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Ability to learn new processes quickly and adapt to changing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-first approach.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
