Language: English, strong written and verbal communication skills

Background Check Requirements: Criminal record check, credit check, and employment references required

About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading credit union, is seeking a relationship-focused Personal Banking Officer to join their collaborative financial services team. In this permanent role, you’ll help members make confident financial decisions by understanding their goals and recommending personalized banking, credit, mortgage and investment solutions.

You’ll work closely with members, branch colleagues and internal partners to grow relationships and identify new opportunities. This is an excellent fit for someone who enjoys proactive outreach, consultative sales and creating a positive member experience while contributing to a supportive, community-minded workplace.

What’s In It for You

You’ll join a people-first environment that values collaboration, integrity and respect, with opportunities for ongoing coaching and professional development. You’ll also gain exposure to a broad range of financial products and member needs while building your expertise in banking, lending and investments. This is a full-time, permanent role that offers 3-weeks' vacation, health and dental benefits, and pension plans.

Your Responsibilities

You’ll proactively connect with members through call plans, renewal lists, referrals and sales leads to understand their financial needs.
You’ll recommend banking, credit, mortgage and investment solutions while providing thoughtful financial advice.
You’ll build and maintain relationships with individual members, businesses, co-operatives and not-for-profit organizations.
You’ll identify high-value opportunities and connect members with internal or external partners when specialized expertise is required.
You’ll contribute to sales and retention goals by uncovering longer-term financial needs and following through on opportunities.
You’ll apply risk-based pricing, anti-money laundering requirements and established policies while maintaining accurate member interactions.

Skills and Qualifications

3+ years of related financial institution experience, combined with post-secondary education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience providing credit solutions, particularly mortgage lending is required.
Proven sales experience with strong interviewing, relationship-building, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Strong working knowledge of investments, lending, mortgages and financial needs analysis.
CSC or IFIC completion is an asset.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other common business applications, along with strong analytical and mathematical skills.

Note from the Hiring Manager

“We’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys getting to know people and understanding what matters to them financially. If you’re proactive, comfortable having meaningful financial conversations and motivated by building lasting relationships, you’ll have an opportunity to make a real impact here.”
