About the Opportunity:

Are you a detail-oriented Project Coordinator who enjoys seeing construction projects come to life? We're recruiting for an established Ottawa-based real estate development and property management organization seeking a Project Coordinator to support construction, renovation, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects across a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties.

Working closely with the Construction Manager, you'll collaborate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to keep projects moving forward. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the quality, safety, and functionality of properties that serve communities across Ottawa.

What’s In It for You

  • Competitive annual salary of $60,000–$75,000
  • Comprehensive extended health benefits and an Employee and Family Assistance Program
  • Group RRSP with competitive employer matching
  • Ongoing training, professional development, and career growth opportunities
  • A collaborative environment with exposure to diverse construction and property improvement projects

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll coordinate construction, renovation, rehabilitation, and maintenance projects from planning through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
  • You'll conduct property assessments and site inspections, identifying deficiencies and recommending practical solutions.
  • You'll prepare project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, budgets, progress reports, and technical documentation.
  • You'll support tendering, contractor selection, contract administration, permit applications, and regulatory approvals.
  • You'll monitor project costs, review invoices, manage change orders, and track project performance.
  • You'll collaborate with contractors, consultants, municipal authorities, tenants, and internal stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • You'll support construction safety compliance, final inspections, deficiency reviews, and project closeout activities.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of progressive construction project coordination experience, supported by a diploma or degree in Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Building Sciences, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, building systems, building envelopes, accessibility requirements, applicable codes, sustainability, and occupational health and safety.
  • Experience with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, technical drawings, cost estimates, and multidisciplinary stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and project management software. AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Project are assets.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently and collaboratively.
  • Current WHMIS and valid First Aid/CPR certifications, plus a valid Ontario Class G driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle. Additional construction safety certifications are assets.
  • Experience in housing or property management environments is considered an asset.
