About the Opportunity
We’re partnering with a growing organization in the supply chain and logistics sector to find a Senior Accountant who enjoys being close to business operations. You’ll join a finance team where collaboration is central, partnering closely with Operations to understand what’s changing across the business and translate those changes into accurate financial results.
This is a hands-on role with exposure to month-end reporting, regional P&Ls, analysis, budgeting and forecasting. As the organization continues to grow and strengthen its financial governance, you’ll also have opportunities to improve processes, adapt working papers and controls, and contribute to an evolving finance environment.
What’s in it for You
You’ll join an entrepreneurial environment where initiative and adaptability are valued. The package includes employer-paid standard health benefits, three weeks of vacation and an RRSP match after one year, along with exposure to process improvement, evolving governance and IFRS.
Your Responsibilities
- You’ll own the preparation and review of P&Ls for two regions, partnering with operational leaders to explain trends, budget variances and business changes.
- You’ll execute month-end activities including journal entries, accruals, prepaids, allocations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- You’ll investigate account and system discrepancies, validate data and ensure financial information is complete and accurate.
- You’ll gather and validate inputs for budgeting and forecasting in collaboration with FP&A and Operations.
- You’ll lead month-end financial review discussions and translate accounting insights into clear, practical business language.
- You’ll contribute to system implementations, documentation and process improvements that strengthen controls and reporting.
Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, with the ability to own the preparation and review of monthly P&L reports
- Strong business-partnering skills with the ability to communicate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong foundational accounting skills, account reconciliation, accruals, variance analysis, journal entries, month-end cycle & close.
- Experience with a large-scale ERP and strong Excel skills, including formulas and interpreting financial data flows.
- Adaptable, curious and comfortable taking initiative in an evolving environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field.
- CPA designation in progress
