About the Opportunity

Are you a proactive recruitment professional who loves connecting people with opportunities and keeping hiring processes moving? We're looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist / Recruiter to join an established engineering consulting organization during an exciting period of hiring activity. You'll support a collaborative HR team responsible for approximately 200 hires annually across engineering, technical, corporate, and co-op positions.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys taking initiative, learning new systems, and building relationships. Whether you're an experienced recruiter or an emerging HR professional with strong recruitment exposure, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

What's In It for You

  • Competitive hourly compensation of $43–$49, with a 36.5-hour paid workweek.
  • Potential opportunity to transition into a permanent position.
  • Supportive HR team offering hands-on training, mentorship, and collaboration.
  • Exposure to high-volume recruitment, specialized engineering roles, and recruitment process improvements.
  • Opportunity to expand your responsibilities across talent acquisition and broader HR initiatives.

Your Responsibilities

  • You'll coordinate interviews, manage candidate communications, and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
  • You'll maintain accurate candidate records and recruitment activities using Paycor ATS.
  • You'll screen applications, identify qualified candidates, and support recruitment across technical and corporate positions.
  • You'll assist with high-volume co-op recruitment, including application reviews and interview coordination.
  • You'll build relationships with hiring managers to understand recruitment needs and priorities.
  • You'll identify opportunities to improve recruitment processes, candidate pipelines, and overall hiring efficiency.
  • You'll provide additional HR coordination and administrative support as needed.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR coordination experience, including relevant co-op or internship experience.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, ideally Paycor; exposure to Rippling is an asset.
  • Strong technical aptitude and confidence learning and navigating new software.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage competing priorities independently.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and candidate screening abilities.
  • Experience recruiting engineering, technical, or high-volume positions is an asset.
  • Proactive, resourceful mindset with an interest in recruitment strategy, process improvement, and problem-solving.
