The role
As a Director, Product Engineering (Technology), reporting to the VP of Engineering, you will lead the teams that build Altitude Sports' e-commerce product. You will oversee the software development squads responsible for new features, major evolutions of the customer experience, and strategic initiatives while working alongside other Technology leaders to align engineering capacity and deliver high-quality products.

What You Will Do

Lead, mentor, and grow the product engineering squads by instilling a culture of technical excellence, autonomy, and quality delivery.
Evolve engineering practices (code quality, reviews, observability) and squad structures as the company grows.
Drive a strong quality assurance mindset across squads through testing strategies, automation, and regression prevention.
Partner closely with Product leaders and the Delivery Director (Engineering) to translate product strategy into a realistic and ambitious engineering roadmap.
Build team sensitivity to platform performance, technical SEO, and accessibility from the design stage.
Partner closely with the Solution Architect and Director, Platforms & Infrastructure to align technical choices and protect squad capacity.
Arbitrate priorities between new features, structural technical debt, and performance investments while managing the team budget.
Identify, recruit, and retain technical talent, and build growth paths for developers and managers on the team.
Make decisions from data by instrumenting the product and tracking relevant indicators to ground trade-offs in measurable facts.
Contribute to securing tax credits and grants related to innovation and software development (SR&ED) by rigorously documenting eligible work.

Who you are

10+ years of experience in software engineering, including several years managing people and managers in a high-volume e-commerce or tech environment.

Le rôle
En tant que Directeur.rice, Ingénierie produit (Technologie), relevant du VP Ingénierie, tu diriges les équipes qui construisent le produit e-commerce d'Altitude Sports. Tu encadres les escouades de développement logiciel responsables des nouvelles fonctionnalités, des évolutions majeures de l'expérience client et des initiatives stratégiques qui font avancer l'entreprise tout en siégeant aux côtés des autres leaders Technologie pour garantir la qualité et l'alignement de notre capacité d'ingénierie.

Ce que tu feras

Diriger, mentorer et faire grandir les escouades d'ingénierie produit en instaurant une culture d'excellence technique, d'autonomie et de livraison de qualité.
Faire évoluer les pratiques d'ingénierie (qualité du code, revues, observabilité) et la structure des escouades en fonction de la croissance de l'entreprise.
Porter une exigence forte d'assurance qualité au sein des escouades par le biais de stratégies de tests, d'automatisation et de prévention des régressions.
Collaborer étroitement avec les leaders Produit et la Directrice livraison (Ingénierie) pour traduire la stratégie produit en une feuille de route d'ingénierie réaliste et ambitieuse.
Développer une sensibilité d'équipe à la performance de la plateforme, au SEO technique et à l'accessibilité dès la conception.
Collaborer étroitement avec l'Architecte de solution et le Directeur Plateformes et infrastructure pour aligner les choix techniques et protéger la capacité des escouades.
Arbitrer les priorités entre les nouvelles fonctionnalités, la dette technique structurelle et les investissements dans la performance tout en gérant le budget de l'équipe.

Compétences techniques pointues : écosystème MACH, Python, architecture événementielle, Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, AWS, et sensibilité au développement front-end moderne (React, Next.js, TypeScript).
