Senior Commissioning / Test Engineer

Amaris Consulting is looking for a Senior Commissioning / Test Engineer with hands-on experience in Overhead Contact System (OCS) commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.

You’ll support the testing and energization phase of the Hurontario LRT project, working on site with subcontractors, internal teams and project stakeholders.

Your responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute OCS commissioning, testing and troubleshooting activities on site.
• Prepare and apply test plans, procedures and acceptance criteria for the contact line system.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults affecting OCS infrastructure.
• Support system energization, integration testing, cutover and final acceptance.
• Coordinate subcontractors and work closely with project teams to keep commissioning activities on schedule.
• Track progress, risks and priority issues, then report them to the project team.
• Produce test records, snag lists, commissioning reports and record drawings.
• Follow all Health, Safety and Environment requirements in a site and construction environment.

Your profile

• 7+ years of field experience in OCS or catenary commissioning, testing and troubleshooting.
• Experience on rail, LRT or other railway electrification projects.
• Strong planning and coordination skills.
• Experience managing subcontractors and working with multiple project stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of North American and international OCS and electrification standards.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical background.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, site-based commissioning environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Assets

• Railway OCS linesperson or catenary certification.
• Experience on P3 or DBFOM transit projects.
• Working-at-height certification.
• Valid Ontario Class G driver’s licence.
• Experience reading electrical drawings and using CAD tools.

Expected Compensation Range:

70K-120K. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.

Canadian Experience Requirement:

No Canadian work experience is required for this position. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of previous Canadian experience.
