Amaris Consulting is looking for a Senior Embedded Linux Security Engineer to support a client developing smoke detection panels.

You’ll work on the security architecture of the detection panel platform, with a focus on embedded Linux, secure communication between devices, and cryptographic key management. The scope is well defined, while some technical and regulatory requirements are still being clarified with the client.

Your responsibilities

Develop and maintain the platform BSP.
Work on Linux kernel configuration, drivers, and board bring-up.
Contribute to Yocto or Buildroot-based development.
Define and implement secure communication mechanisms between devices.
Design the full lifecycle of cryptographic keys, including:
Contribute to the definition of the platform’s security architecture.
Review security requirements and help translate them into technical specifications.
Assess the security of existing designs and identify areas requiring further work.
Produce clear technical documentation covering the architecture, protocols, and key management processes.
Work with the client’s engineering and security teams to clarify requirements and confirm the applicable security framework.

Your profile

You’re a senior embedded systems engineer with experience in both of the following areas:

Embedded Linux

BSP development and board bring-up
Linux kernel configuration and development
Driver development
Yocto and/or Buildroot
Embedded hardware and software interfaces
Debugging at system level

Security and applied cryptography

Secure communication protocols
Cryptographic key management
Key provisioning, rotation, and revocation
PKI and certificate-based authentication
Security architecture for connected devices
Familiarity with secure boot, trusted execution, or hardware-backed key storage is a plus

Experience in a regulated or safety-critical environment is strongly preferred. Backgrounds in fire safety, industrial security, connected devices, or IoT security would be particularly relevant.

Working arrangement

The mission requires limited on-site presence:

A few days on-site at project kickoff
Flexible hybrid working for the rest of the assignment
Direct interaction with the client’s technical and security teams

You should be comfortable working independently, with limited supervision, on a technical scope that may evolve as the client finalises its security requirements.

Job Description

Amaris Consulting recherche un Ingénieur senior Linux embarqué et cybersécurité pour accompagner un client qui développe des centrales de détection de fumée.

Vous interviendrez sur l’architecture de sécurité de la plateforme, avec un rôle central sur le système Linux embarqué, les communications sécurisées entre les équipements et la gestion des clés cryptographiques. Le périmètre de la mission est défini, mais certaines exigences techniques et réglementaires sont encore en cours de clarification avec le client.

Vos responsabilités

Développer et maintenir le BSP de la plateforme.
Intervenir sur la configuration et le développement du kernel Linux.
Participer au développement des drivers et à la mise en route des cartes.
Travailler sur des environnements basés sur Yocto et/ou Buildroot.
Définir et mettre en œuvre les mécanismes de communication sécurisée entre les équipements.
Concevoir le cycle de vie complet des clés cryptographiques, notamment :

La génération et le provisioning des clés
Le partage des clés entre les équipements
Le stockage et l’utilisation des clés
La rotation et la révocation des clés
Les procédures de gestion des clés

Participer à la définition de l’architecture de sécurité de la plateforme.
Analyser les exigences de sécurité et les traduire en spécifications techniques.
Évaluer la sécurité des conceptions existantes et identifier les sujets à traiter.
Rédiger une documentation technique claire sur l’architecture, les protocoles et la gestion des clés.
Échanger avec les équipes techniques et sécurité du client afin de préciser les exigences et de confirmer le référentiel de sécurité applicable.

Votre profil

Vous êtes un ingénieur senior en systèmes embarqués, avec une expérience solide dans les domaines suivants :

Linux embarqué

Développement de BSP et mise en route de cartes
Configuration et développement du kernel Linux
Développement de drivers
Maîtrise de Yocto et/ou Buildroot
Interfaces matérielles et logicielles embarquées
Diagnostic et débogage au niveau système

Sécurité et cryptographie appliquée

Protocoles de communication sécurisée
Gestion des clés cryptographiques
Provisioning, rotation et révocation des clés
PKI et authentification par certificats
Architecture de sécurité pour les équipements connectés
La connaissance du secure boot, de l’exécution sécurisée ou du stockage matériel des clés serait un plus

Une expérience dans un environnement réglementé ou à fortes exigences de sécurité est fortement appréciée. Une expérience dans les secteurs de la sécurité incendie, de la sécurité industrielle, des équipements connectés ou de l’IoT serait particulièrement pertinente.

Quelques jours sur site au démarrage du projet
