Ring is seeking a Mobile Software Development Engineer to join the Cloud Connectivity organization in Toronto, where you'll build and deliver customer-facing mobile experiences that power how millions of Ring devices and services work together.
You'll design and implement high-quality mobile applications that integrate with a broad ecosystem of connected devices and cloud services. You'll collaborate across Ring's cloud, firmware, science, and product organizations to solve hard problems in mobile performance, reliability, and real-time data processing - delivering polished experiences to customers at scale.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and implement high-quality mobile application features supporting millions of Ring customers with strict reliability and performance requirements
- Build extensible, well-architected mobile components that serve as the foundation for Ring's customer-facing experiences
- Partner with cross-functional teams - cloud services, firmware, design, and product - to translate complex business requirements into robust mobile solutions
- Drive technical excellence in mobile engineering, including architectural patterns, testing strategies, and CI/CD best practices
- Contribute to technical decision-making that influences Ring's mobile platform architecture and future product capabilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, ensuring a high-quality customer experience
About the team
Ring Cloud Connectivity builds the foundational platforms and services that power how Ring devices connect, communicate, coordinate, and deliver experiences to customers. The team partners across Ring's cloud services, firmware, science, and product organizations to deliver customer experiences at scale. We are a Toronto-based team that values technical ownership, iterative delivery, and leveraging AI-assisted development to maximize engineering impact.
Basic Qualifications:
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience building mobile applications
- 3+ years of native iOS (Swift/Objective-C) or Android (Kotlin/Java) development using modern tooling and architectural patterns - or 3+ years of production React Native (or comparable cross-platform) experience with working knowledge of the underlying native platforms
- Solid understanding of mobile fundamentals: app lifecycle, memory and performance, networking, persistence, and testing
- Experience adopting AI-powered development tools (AI-assisted coding, test generation, code review, debugging) in real production work
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Working knowledge of both iOS and Android platforms, or experience bridging React Native with native modules
- Experience working on features with strict reliability, latency, or correctness requirements
- Experience with REST APIs, real-time/event-driven services, or push-based architectures
- Performance profiling and optimization experience on mobile devices

The base salary range for this position is listed below. As a total compensation company, Amazon's package may include other elements such as sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
