We are looking for a Crane Operator (Material Handler) to join our team in Lac-Mégantic!
Do you enjoy operating heavy equipment and working hands-on in an outdoor environment? This position is for you! Your primary responsibility will be operating the material handler to move, handle, and load materials.
Depending on operational needs, you may also assist with other yard activities, including metal sorting, receiving materials, and performing manual tasks. Operating other equipment, such as a loader or forklift, may also be part of the role, depending on your experience and the site's needs.

Responsibilities :
- Operate a material handler to move, handle, and load materials;
- Sort and identify metals using various methods and tools, including testing and magnets, and assess non-marketable materials;
- Receive, unload, and move metals to designated areas;
- Inspect the quality of incoming and handled materials;
- Move and organize bins containing non-ferrous materials throughout the yard;
- Operate other equipment, such as a crane, loader, or forklift, as needed;
- Load ferrous materials for customers;
- Perform manual tasks related to daily yard operations, including sorting, handling, and organizing materials.
To join our team :
- Experience operating heavy equipment, such as a crane, loader, or similar machinery;
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding, outdoor environment;
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities;
- Strong commitment to occupational health and safety;
- Proactive, hands-on approach to work;
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence (strong asset);
- Experience in a scrap yard or recycling environment (strong asset).

Responsibilities
Operate a material handler to move, sort, inspect, organize, and load metals and other materials in the yard. Support daily yard operations by receiving and unloading materials, performing manual tasks, and operating other equipment as needed.
Requirements
Experience operating heavy equipment such as a crane, loader, or similar machinery, along with comfort working in a physically demanding outdoor environment, is required. Teamwork, adaptability, a strong safety commitment, and a proactive approach are expected; a valid Class 5 driver's licence and scrap yard or recycling experience are strong assets.
