The Verification and Validation (V&V) Coordinator Coordinator, you will support the Elevated Guideways and Stations Contract (“EGS”) of The Ontario Line ("OL"). The Primary Construction Team for this project consists of ACCIONA Infrastructure Canada Inc. (ACCIONA) and Amico Major Projects Inc. (Amico), as Trillium Guideway Partners (TGP).
As the V&V Coordinator role, you will ensure the quality, reliability, and compliance of project with the requirements both explicit and derived. The ideal candidate will manage and co ordinate verification and validation activities with various departments across the project lifecycle, ensuring that all construction deliverables meet industry standards, specifications, and safety regulations. This role is crucial for ensuring that the construction project meets client expectations and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support other departments with the implementation V&V plans for construction project, ensuring alignment with project requirements and specifications.
- Verify and validate the procedures and test reports meet the requirements used in the project and update the traceability matrix.
- Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance requirements
- Participate in on-site inspections and quality assurance testing on materials and work progress.
- Review compliance with requirements, industry standards and other applicable standards
- Identify and resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, architects, and engineers to address and resolve project issues.
- Manage documentation of test reports, validation records, and compliance checklists.
- Assist in the preparation for site audits and ensure that all construction activities are documented for contract purposes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in construction quality assurance, V&V engineering, or construction testing.
- Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and testing procedures.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Experience with construction quality management systems (e.g., QA/QC procedures).
- Proficiency in construction software (AutoCAD, Revit, BIM tools, etc.) and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera).
- Proficient in IBM Doors or a similar requirements management software an asset.
- Ability to identify potential risks and suggest preventive actions.
Work Conditions
- Primarily Office-based with visits to construction sites for inspections and testing.
- Full-time position with standard working hours, occasional extended hours to meet project deadlines.
- Field inspections may require standing, walking, and lifting materials
