Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Key Accounts – Commercial Planning is responsible for driving sustainable growth across key retail accounts by combining strategic account management with strong commercial planning, sales forecasting, and business analysis.

This role will serve as a key connection between our retail partners and internal teams, translating brand strategies and business objectives into actionable account plans. The Key Account Manager will own account performance, sell-in planning, forecasting, promotional planning, new product launches, and ongoing business reviews while identifying opportunities to accelerate sell-through and improve inventory productivity.

Working closely with Sales, Marketing, Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Finance, and Field Sales, this role will ensure that commercial decisions are supported by strong data, disciplined planning, and effective execution.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Senior Manager will play a key role in strengthening commercial planning processes, improving forecast accuracy, and delivering profitable growth across the company's retail portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Key Account Strategy & Management

Develop and execute annual and seasonal strategic commercial plans for assigned key retail partners.
Serve as the primary commercial point of contact for retail partners on net sales/retail sales forecasting, inventory management, purchase order negotiations and OTB optimization.
Build and maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, category managers, merchandise planners, and other key decision-makers.
Lead commercial negotiations with retail partners to align sales targets, OTB commitments, inventory levels, and growth expectations.
Own account-level sales performance, ensuring the achievement of annual and monthly revenue, growth, and profitability targets.
Proactively identify and quantify business opportunities, performance gaps, and potential risks, providing timely recommendations and corrective actions.
Collaborate closely with Brand teams to align retailer-specific commercial plans with overall brand objectives, product launches, and promotional strategies.

Commercial Planning, Sell-In Management & Sales Operations

Lead the annual commercial planning process, establishing sell-in targets by retailer and brand in alignment with company objectives.
Negotiate and optimize retailer OTB commitments based on inventory levels, anticipated consumer demand, and agreed growth expectations.
Develop and manage monthly sell-in forecasts by retailer and brand, incorporating sell-through trends, on-hand inventory, retailer forecasts, promotional activities, and business priorities.
Monitor actual sales against targets and forecasts and proactively develop recovery plans when performance is below expectations.
Identify potential sales opportunities, inventory risks, and supply constraints and communicate them proactively to relevant stakeholders.
Lead commercial forecasting for new product launches, promotions, and seasonal programs in close collaboration with Brand teams.
Oversee sell-in operations, including purchase order management, order tracking, and coordination with Supply Chain to ensure accurate and timely execution.
Establish and continuously improve commercial planning processes to strengthen forecast accuracy, inventory productivity, and operational efficiency.

Business Analytics & Performance Management

Analyze account performance by retailer, brand, category, SKU, channel, and period to identify growth opportunities and business risks.
Track account KPIs and provide regular performance updates to key stakeholders
Conduct post-launch and post-promotion analyses to evaluate performance and improve future planning.
Monitor competitive activity, market trends, retailer developments, pricing, and promotional strategies within the beauty and skincare category.

Cross-Functional Commercial Leadership

Act as the central commercial point of contact for key retail accounts, ensuring alignment between external retail partners and internal stakeholders.
Partner closely with Brand teams to translate brand strategies, product launches, and marketing initiatives into retailer-specific commercial opportunities.
Collaborate with Demand Planning and Supply Chain to align sales forecasts, inventory availability, replenishment, and purchase order execution with commercial plans.
Work closely with Strategy and Finance on trade investments, sales target achievement, account profitability, and commercial performance tracking.
Facilitate alignment across functions when commercial priorities, forecasts, or business requirements change.
Coordinate with Field Sales to ensure alignment between retailer commercial plans, in-store execution, and sell-through objectives.
Facilitate cross-functional decision-making when commercial priorities, forecasts, inventory requirements, or retailer business conditions change.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, or a related discipline.
7+ years of progressive experience in Key Account Management, Sales, Commercial Planning, or a related function.
Experience within beauty, skincare, cosmetics, prestige retail, consumer packaged goods, or a similar consumer-focused industry strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience managing strategic retail accounts and delivering sales growth.
Strong experience with sell-in/sell-through analysis, forecasting, inventory planning, promotional planning, and business performance analysis.
Experience working with major beauty or retail partners is considered a strong asset.
Strong commercial and financial acumen with an understanding of revenue, margin, trade investment, and account profitability.
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with SAP, retailer portals, forecasting systems, or BI/reporting tools is an asset.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex data into practical business recommendations.
Highly organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
