AI Product Engineer
Sentinel | Angel Host
Please make sure to answer all questions on the application form; incomplete forms will be discarded
We are looking for someone based in Montreal, Quebec
About us
Angel Host is a Montreal-based revenue management and listing optimization company serving short-term rental property managers in 14+ countries. An early pioneer of revenue management, Angel Host helps operators grow revenue across their portfolios. Sentinel by Angel Host is our AI-native revenue intelligence and decision engine designed for medium and large short-term rental portfolios. Sentinel works on top of leading dynamic pricing platforms, surfacing the decisions that leave money on the table and helping revenue teams maximize their returns.
We build AI-first. Our backend runs on Supabase and Postgres, our frontend is built through AI-assisted development (Cursor, Claude Code on a React / TypeScript stack), and we work under a strict plan-review-before-execution protocol. We ship in fast, iterative loops and are scaling rapidly over the next 6 to 12 months.
The role
As our AI Product Engineer, you will build, validate and ship products across both Sentinel and Angel Host, using AI-assisted development as your primary way of working. You will report to Iman Ghahremani, Chief Product Officer, and work closely with our IT Development Team, Eduardo Mandri (CEO) and Veronique Lalonde (COO).
You will join a second AI Product Engineer, and your time will be shared between two areas:
- Sentinel: building and refining features, fixing bugs, and owning quality on our revenue intelligence platform.
- Angel Host internal tools: taking ownership of our CRM and our Client Hub (owner dashboard), both built in Lovable, plus the automations that connect our operations (Zapier, HubSpot and reporting workflows).
This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Montreal.
Responsibilities
Sentinel product engineering
- Build and refine product features using AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Cursor).
- Reproduce, diagnose and resolve bugs, and write clear technical tickets.
- Drive feature rollouts from validation through release.
- Own QA and test automation to protect quality at high velocity.
- Contribute to reporting and data visualization: help define what dashboards should show and how they should feel, then iterate on them with the team.
Angel Host internal tools and automation
- Take ownership of our CRM and Client Hub (owner dashboard), both built in Lovable: maintain them, fix issues and evolve them with the teams that use them.
- Build and maintain automations across our operations stack, such as Zapier workflows and HubSpot automations that feed reports.
- Act as the go-to technical partner for the Angel Host team on smaller initiatives, integrations and migrations.
How you work
- Translate business needs into structured prompts and specifications for AI-assisted work.
- Follow our plan-review-before-execution methodology: investigate first, plan before prompting, make surgical edits and move fast.
- Document product behavior and strengthen our internal knowledge base.
- Develop deep fluency in the Sentinel and Angel Host business so you ship the right work, faster.
- Run short research projects on emerging AI capabilities (Skills, Connectors, MCPs, Agents and whatever lands next).
Who you are
- You are curious about the latest in AI and excited to put it to work on real business problems. You take ownership, you like seeing what you build used by real people, and you are just as happy fixing an internal tool for a colleague as shipping a new feature to clients.
- Being consultative, approachable, welcoming and helpful is at the core of who we are. Although this is not a client-facing role, your work directly shapes our clients' experience, and we expect you to treat colleagues with the same respect, collaboration and willingness to help that we extend to our clients.
Is this position for you? It is if you are…
- A degree or current studies in software engineering, computer science or a related field.
- Hands-on experience building and shipping software products, whether professionally, through internships or through substantial personal projects.
- An AI-first way of building: daily, practical use of tools like Claude Code, Cursor or Lovable, and the judgment to review, test and correct what they produce.
- Solid grounding in web development fundamentals, ideally React and TypeScript.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (Postgres or Supabase is a plus).
- Strong debugging skills: you can reproduce an issue, isolate the cause and explain it clearly in a ticket.
- The ability to turn a loosely defined business need into a clear plan or specification before you build.
- Clear written and verbal communication in English, including presenting research and recommendations.
- Comfort working on two fronts at once (Sentinel and Angel Host) and switching context without losing quality.
- Availability for a full-time, hybrid schedule in Montreal, starting December 1, 2026
Nice to have
- Experience with no-code and automation tools such as Zapier and HubSpot.
- Experience with third-party API integrations, QA and test automation.
- Interest in data, dashboards and analytics, or exposure to machine learning.
- Familiarity with revenue management, short-term rentals, or hospitality.
What Success Looks Like
- You ship product features and fixes faster and more reliably than before you joined
- You reduce the volume of work that reaches senior engineering by triaging, reproducing, and resolving issues independently
- You raise quality through strong QA and test automation
- You progressively take ownership of backend tasks with less supervision
- You become a trusted bridge between the business and the platform
Why join us
If you enjoy working with a small group of motivated, driven people, you'll feel at home here. At Angel Host, you'll join a fast-moving startup where your ideas are heard and your work has a visible impact from day one. You'll take real ownership of your role and work directly with the founders, alongside an international team spread across several countries. Our business sits where hospitality meets AI, so there's always something new to learn and build.
- Hybrid work: split your time between our downtown Montreal co-working space and your own space.
- The latest AI tools: access to the tools we build with every day, including Claude Code and Cursor.
- Competitive salary.
- Group health and dental insurance: eligibility right after your 3-month probation period.
