Join Aon and make your next career move truly count!
This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Toronto, Ontario office, in line with our in‑country Smart Working policy.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.
The salary range for this position is $106,470- $138,390. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

Aon is in the business of better decisions
At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.
As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.
What the day will look like
You’ll spend your first month learning our internal processes, then quickly apply them to real client accounts. You’ll work directly with brokers and clients, turning catastrophe modelling results into advice that shapes their reinsurance decisions. Typical activities include:
- Running established catastrophe vendor models and interpreting the output, recognizing where results need to be challenged
- Preparing, checking and analyzing client exposure data, spotting errors and unusual patterns, such as a portfolio weighted differently from the wider market
- Explaining what modelling results mean for a client’s portfolio, in written deliverables and in discussions with brokers and clients
- Supporting reinsurance submissions and contributing to peer studies, model evaluations and other research projects
- Investigating issues as they arise, drawing on the wider team and coming back with considered options
- Supporting and mentoring analysts, sharing your knowledge to build the capability of the team
- Representing the team at client meetings, conferences and training, including occasional travel to the US and other markets
How this opportunity is different
Catastrophe Management Analyst at Aon is a front‑facing function. Rather than working behind the scenes, you’ll take part in broker discussions, client presentations and placement decisions, working closely with the team’s leadership and senior brokers. The role offers scope to grow, with support to develop your leadership at a pace that suits you.
Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Insurance and reinsurance knowledge: A working understanding of insurance and reinsurance, policy conditions and exposure data that you can apply confidently to live client accounts
- Catastrophe model interpretation and data analysis: Experience running established models, interpreting their output critically, and preparing and validating exposure data using tools such as SQL and Excel; familiarity with the main vendor models is helpful, and we’ll support the right person to build their modelling depth
- Translating analysis into client advice: Ability to explain what results mean in plain language, answer broker and client questions with confidence, and be clear when something needs follow‑up
- Collaboration and team contribution: Track record of building working relationships with brokers and colleagues, contributing actively in team and client discussions, and supporting the development of others
- Problem solving and ownership: Willingness to investigate issues rather than pass them on, drawing on the wider team where needed, and returning with considered options to agree a solution
Aon is not accepting unsolicited resumes from search firms for this position. If you are a search firm, you will not be compensated in any way for your submission of a candidate, even if Aon hires that candidate.
