Early Careers Launch - Investment Consulting

Role Type: New position

Launch Your Career in Investment Consulting

Aon is looking for soon-to-be graduates and recent graduates to join our Early Careers Launch Development Program in Investment Consulting. You do not need to be an investment expert on day one. Through our Launch Program and on-the-job learning, you will learn how investment consultants help clients understand markets, evaluate investment options and make better decisions that support long-term financial outcomes.

As an Investment Consulting colleague, you will build the skills, confidence and market knowledge needed to support client reporting, portfolio analytics, investment research and consultant-led projects across a range of investment topics.

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What is Investment Consulting

Investment Consulting helps organizations make informed decisions about investment strategy, pension assets and long-term financial outcomes. Aon works with institutional investors to provide data-driven insights, market expertise and strategic advice that support better investment decisions.

By combining investment knowledge, analytics and client service, Investment Consulting colleagues help clients evaluate performance, navigate changing markets and achieve their long-term objectives.

The salary range for this position is {$65,500 - $72,500}. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location.

Aon also offers you a comprehensive benefits package.

What You Will Do

As an Investment Consulting colleague, you will build hands-on investment consulting experience while developing an understanding of how markets, data, clients and strategy come together to create value. Technology and digital tools increasingly support research, reporting and analysis, allowing colleagues to focus earlier on interpretation, client insight, governance and advisory support.

Analyze Investments and Build Market Insight

  • Prepare and review investment performance monitoring reports for institutional clients.

  • Analyze investment data, market information and portfolio results to identify key insights and support client recommendations.

  • Build knowledge of investment fundamentals, asset classes, investment managers, market conditions and long-term strategy considerations.

Support Client Reporting and Portfolio Analytics

  • Prepare presentations and materials on investment topics such as manager selection, asset classes, portfolio structure, market themes and investment fundamentals.

  • Support portfolio analytics and consultant-led projects for clients with defined benefit and defined contribution pension plans, foundations, insurance funds or other investment pools.

  • Use data, analytics and technology-enabled tools to summarize complex investment information into clear, client-ready insights.

Support Investment Research and Governance

  • Conduct searches and research for investment managers, defined contribution service providers or other investment solutions.

  • Review and support governance documents, including investment policy or strategy materials, with attention to accuracy and client needs.

  • Apply research and analytical skills to help clients evaluate investment options, governance outcomes and long-range investment strategies.

Coordinate Projects and Improve How Work Gets Done

  • Support senior associates and consultants across client work, internal projects and investment-related deliverables.

  • Coordinate priorities, timelines and materials across client teams while maintaining accuracy and quality.

  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, analysis and client service workflows through technology-enabled ways of working.

The Launch Development Program

Launch is a structured Early Careers development program that combines meaningful work, business learning, professional development and relationship-building across Aon. The program helps you build a strong foundation for a long-term investment consulting and advisory career through:

  • On-the-job learning with investment consultants, client teams, analysts and solution line specialists.

  • Business and professional development in Investment Consulting, client service, communication, collaboration, problem solving and commercial awareness.

  • Exposure to data, analytics and technology that support investment research, performance reporting, portfolio analysis and client-ready recommendations.

  • Networking, mentorship and coaching opportunities to build relationships across Aon and develop your career path.

  • Support for long-term professional development, which may include relevant qualifications such as IMC, CFA or other role-specific pathways depending on location and role requirements.

What Will Help You Succeed and Grow

We are looking for candidates who are curious, motivated and excited to learn. Through the Launch Program, you will continue developing the same skills and capabilities that support a successful investment consulting and advisory career, including:

  • An interest in investment consulting, finance, economics, analytics, pensions, markets, asset management or client service.

  • A desire to pursue a career in Investment Consulting and to build expertise in institutional investing and advisory work.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Analytical and critical thinking, problem-solving ability and attention to detail.

  • A collaborative mindset, alongside initiative, adaptability and a willingness to contribute as part of a team.

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Confidence using technology and a willingness to learn new tools, digital platforms and technology-enabled ways of working.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word; advanced Excel skills may be helpful depending on the role.

  • Interest in continuous learning, professional growth and investment-related professional development.
