Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada. This role is not eligible for sponsorship, and we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa or work permit.

Aon is in the business of better decisions

At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world.

As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.

What the day will look like

As a Junior Account Executive at Aon, you will play a vital role in supporting our client relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and contributing to the overall success of our team. You will work closely with Senior Account Executives, the Thunder Bay Indigenous practice, and colleagues across the Prairie region, including virtual collaboration with the Winnipeg Indigenous practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting Senior Account Executives in handling client portfolios, helping to ensure high levels of client satisfaction, retention, and timely service delivery.
  • Providing day‑to‑day support to the Thunder Bay Indigenous practice and virtual support to the Winnipeg Indigenous practice, coordinating effectively across locations.
  • Engaging with clients (in person, by phone, and virtually) to understand their evolving needs and help identify appropriate products and services.
  • Learning and applying core insurance principles to explain coverage, value propositions, and service offerings to clients in a clear and professional manner.
  • Conducting preliminary risk analysis and supporting the development of risk mitigation recommendations under the guidance of Senior Account Executives.
  • Reviewing contracts, policies, and related documentation to help ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assisting with the preparation of client presentations, proposals, renewal materials, and other supporting documentation.
  • Supporting basic sales and account development activities, such as tracking opportunities, preparing materials for client meetings, and identifying potential service enhancements within existing accounts.
  • Assisting with sales forecasting, pipeline tracking, and preparation of regular account performance and activity reports.

How this opportunity is different

This role offers a great foundation in account management and client service within Aon’s Indigenous practice, giving you exposure to a diverse client base and a broad range of risk and insurance solutions. You will collaborate closely with experienced Senior Account Executives and Account Managers across the Prairie region, gaining mentorship, coaching, and support as you build your technical knowledge and client‑facing skills. You will be part of a supportive team environment that encourages learning, professional growth, and significant contribution to client outcomes.

Skills and experience that will lead to success

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong client focus and proven relationship‑building and customer engagement abilities.
  • Demonstrated interest in, or foundational knowledge of, account management, with solid discernment and professional presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple Account Managers and colleagues to support overall Prairie region priorities and goals, while also working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, including the ability to review and understand contracts and related documentation, prioritize contending requirements, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and enthusiasm for learning and contributing to account development initiatives.
