Senior IT Project Manager (Payments Technology)

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite)

Contract Length: 12 Months

Start Date: ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead a large-scale Payments Technology initiative within a fast-paced financial services environment. This role requires a strategic project leader with deep banking experience, strong stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record delivering complex technology projects involving software development, cloud technologies, and APIs.

What You'll Do

• Lead end-to-end delivery of a payments technology project from initiation through implementation.
• Partner with business and technology stakeholders to define scope, priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
• Manage project plans, budgets, dependencies, risks, issues, and governance activities.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams including business, development, architecture, cloud, and vendor partners.
• Drive effective communication and reporting to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Ensure project management methodologies and best practices are consistently applied.
• Navigate ambiguity and complex organizational environments while maintaining delivery momentum.
  
  

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on IT Project Management experience.
• Extensive experience delivering projects within the banking or financial services sector.
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders on software development initiatives.
• Strong understanding of AWS Cloud technologies and API-based solutions.
• Demonstrated expertise in stakeholder management and executive communications.
• Proven ability to manage project risks, dependencies, and competing priorities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• Experience managing projects in high-pressure, fast-paced environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong collaboration skills with a focus on cross-functional teamwork.
