Join a leading organization and advance your payroll career! Aplin is currently recruiting for a Bilingual Payroll Specialist to join a busy centralized payroll team supporting operations across Canada, with a focus on the Quebec district.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional with a strong background in Quebec unionized payroll, collective agreements, and CCQ requirements. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience processing full-cycle payroll for hourly employees and applying complex union agreements in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Process full-cycle weekly payroll for hourly employees, with a focus on Quebec-based unionized employees.
Interpret and apply collective agreement provisions related to wages, overtime, premiums, vacation, statutory holidays, and other employee entitlements.
Apply CCQ requirements and relevant Quebec payroll regulations to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.
Process new hires, terminations, transfers, and employee changes, including rate adjustments and changes to payroll deductions.
Review and process time entries, attendance records, and employee hours, ensuring compliance with applicable collective agreements.
Support the transition from paper time cards to electronic timekeeping.
Process payroll remittances, deductions, benefits, union dues, and other payroll adjustments.
Prepare T4s, Relevé 1s, and other year-end payroll reporting.
Reconcile and remit payroll and union benefit liabilities.
Work closely with internal teams, employees, and union representatives to resolve payroll-related matters.
Respond to payroll inquiries, investigate discrepancies, and provide timely resolutions.
Maintain accurate and confidential payroll records and supporting documentation.

Qualifications

Fluent in both written and spoken French and English is mandatory.
Minimum 2 years of full-cycle payroll experience, ideally 5+ years.
Strong experience processing payroll for unionized employees in Quebec.
Knowledge of CCQ requirements and experience interpreting and applying collective agreements to payroll processing is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience applying union agreement provisions related to wages, overtime, premiums, vacation, and employee benefits.
Strong knowledge of Quebec payroll legislation, deductions, benefits, remittances, and year-end reporting.
Experience with hourly payroll in a high-volume environment.
Experience processing union dues, benefit contributions, and other union-related payroll calculations.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
PCP certification or working toward PCP is preferred.
Experience with JD Edwards/JDE or Oracle payroll systems is an asset.
Must be comfortable working in-office in Edmonton, Montreal, or Ottawa.

Responsabilités

Appliquer les exigences de la CCQ et les règles pertinentes de la paie au Québec afin d’assurer un traitement exact et conforme.
Traiter les embauches, cessations d’emploi, transferts et changements employés, incluant ajustements de taux et modifications de déductions.
Réviser et traiter les feuilles de temps, présences et heures travaillées en conformité avec les conventions collectives.
Soutenir la transition des cartes de temps papier vers un système de saisie électronique.
Traiter les remises, déductions, avantages sociaux, cotisations syndicales et autres ajustements de paie.
Préparer les T4, Relevé 1 et autres rapports de fin d’année.
Réconcilier et remettre les obligations liées à la paie et aux avantages syndicaux.
Assurer la conformité avec les exigences du Québec, la législation gouvernementale, les règles de la CCQ et les conventions collectives applicables.
Collaborer avec les équipes internes, les employés et les représentants syndicaux pour résoudre les enjeux de paie.
Répondre aux questions, enquêter sur les écarts et fournir des résolutions rapides.

Profil recherché

Bilinguisme français/anglais (oral et écrit) obligatoire.
Minimum 2 ans d’expérience en paie full-cycle (idéalement 5 ans et plus).
Solide expérience en traitement de la paie pour des employés syndiqués au Québec.
Connaissance des exigences de la CCQ et expérience d’interprétation et d’application de conventions collectives (fortement souhaitée).
Expérience démontrée dans l’application de clauses syndicales (salaires, heures supplémentaires, primes, vacances, avantages).
