Seeking an experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager to join a growing Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organization in Toronto.

The successful candidate will play a key role in overseeing financial operations, driving budgeting and forecasting processes, analyzing business performance, and providing actionable insights to support operational efficiency and profitable growth.

This role is ideal for a hands-on finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the financial complexities of a product-based business, including inventory management, cost of goods sold, gross margins, and working capital.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
Manage month-end and year-end close activities, including account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
Prepare and present financial statements, management reports, and key performance indicators to senior leadership.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, internal controls, and financial policies.
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial stakeholders as required.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead the annual budgeting process, periodic forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
Analyze actual results against budget, forecast, and prior periods, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
Develop financial models and scenario analyses to support strategic planning and business decisions.
Provide meaningful financial insights and recommendations to improve profitability, operational performance, and cost management.
Partner with cross-functional leaders to establish financial targets and monitor performance against business objectives.

Cash Flow & Internal Controls

Monitor cash flow, working capital, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Identify opportunities to improve cash conversion, inventory efficiency, and overall financial performance.
Maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures.
Identify process improvements and support the implementation of financial systems, reporting tools, and automation initiatives.

Leadership & Business Partnership

Collaborate with senior management and operational teams to support business planning and strategic decision-making.
Translate complex financial information into clear, practical recommendations for non-financial stakeholders.
Lead, mentor, and develop finance team members, where applicable.
Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and data-driven decision-making.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Approximately 5–8+ years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
Previous experience within the Consumer Packaged Goods, manufacturing, food and beverage, or another product-based environment is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of inventory accounting, cost of goods sold, gross margin analysis, and working capital management.
Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, management reporting, budgets, forecasts, and financial models.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
A hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
