Applied Industrial Technologies is an extensive network of industrial distribution and shop facilities located throughout Canada. We currently have an immediate opening for a full time Apprentice Millwright/Service Technician in our Edmonton, AB shop location.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

  • Work in a safe manner, follow overall company safety program
  • Follow instructions and have strong mechanical sense
  • Disassemble, clean, and inspect rotating equipment and related components with a focus on gearboxes and power transmission equipment
  • Measure using micrometers, verniers, and other precision measuring tools
  • Work in a team environment to efficiently achieve a high standard of quality and service to Applied’s extensive customer base
  • Other tasks as required

Preference will be given to candidates who possess some or all the following qualifications:

  • Apprentices with relevant shop experience
  • Energetic and focused personality with willingness to learn
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and number of tasks and complete a variety of work assignments within structured deadlines.
  • Ability to use verbal skills to effectively communicate technical information.

Responsibilities

Work safely and follow company safety procedures while disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting rotating equipment, especially gearboxes and power transmission equipment. Use precision measuring tools and collaborate with the team to deliver quality service to customers, along with other assigned tasks.

Requirements

The employer prefers apprentices with relevant shop experience, a strong mechanical sense, and an energetic, focused attitude with a willingness to learn. Candidates should be detail-oriented, able to prioritize and complete varied assignments within deadlines, and able to communicate technical information verbally.
