In addition, Applied provides engineering, design and systems integration for industrial, fluid power, and flow control applications, as well as customized mechanical, fabricated rubber, fluid power, and flow control shop services.

Applied Industrial Technologies is currently seeking and has an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Technical Sales Representative. Travel will be required in & around the London region; AIT will provide:

Flexibility & autonomy within the region/territory (could be located anywhere between Woodstock, to Chatham including St Thomas and Sarnia, etc)
Monthly Car Allowance + mileage OR Company Vehicle & Fleet Card
Assets for business purposes; laptop & cell phone
Corporate Credit Card to be used for business related Travel & Expenses

In this relationship-based sales role you will report to the General Manager and will assist in maintaining commitments as we expand. You will grow your territory (and your earnings!) by bringing in new business and developing repeat business relationships within your existing accounts. This will require that you call on engineers, maintenance, purchasing, and others to determine their needs through a consultative approach to help clients achieve superior performance.

The Successful Candidate Will Be Responsible For

Responsible for new business development as well as maintaining existing territory
Prospect for new customers, set appointments and demonstrate product benefits
Develops strategic relationships with customers to identify and leverage the customers’ business goals, growth strategies, and profit drivers and deliver the appropriate value proposition strategy
Work with management to develop sales strategies and new business prospects
Respond to customer product inquiries
Engage in direct sales activities
Promote existing and new products
Anticipate client direction and objectives
Manage a robust sales territory
Maintain cooperative and productive team relationships
Attend training and sales meetings as required
Meet or exceed sales targets

Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following qualifications:

2-5 (or more) years of experience in Technical/Outside Sales selling in industry to industrial MROs, OEM, and other (Bearings, Power transmission, Fluid Power, etc components) is a must
Preference will be given to individuals that show mechanical aptitude
Be sales and service oriented
Conduct themselves in a professional manner
Have good organizational skills
Ability to prospect for new clients
Ability to utilize technology to source and find components and information
Maintain customer relations and build new relationships
Analytical and problem solving capability
Strong communication skills both written and verbal
Must be able to build relationships with inside sales force
Proven ability to work in a team environment
Self motivated and the ability to work independently
Deliver on growth and profitability
Meet or beat annual sales goals
Enthusiasm and desire to contribute to a winning culture
