Original job description

About us

Appnovation is the AI Product Company. Headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, with teams around the world, Appnovation builds AI products, delivers enterprise AI and digital solutions, and co-invests with clients to bring new AI products to market.

Open source has been the foundation of Appnovation's work since 2007, and it remains the foundation underneath every AI product the company builds today. Appnovation teams work with organizations in highly regulated industries, including global leaders such as Pfizer, Google and AstraZeneca, to help them adopt AI they can govern and own.

We are hiring Full Stack Developers to join a new dedicated Appnovation team building digital products for a health and longevity client.

You will deliver features end to end across a React and Next.js frontend and Python and Node.js services, and more, from design through testing and release.

You will work closely with the team's Technical Lead, project manager, business analyst and QA, and help connect the platform to a range of digital health devices.

Key Responsibilities:

Building and quality

Build and maintain features across the frontend and backend, end to end.
Build integrations that bring data from digital health devices and third-party services into the platform.
Write well-tested code and test your own work before it reaches QA.

Documentation and knowledge sharing

Document the features, integrations and decisions you work on.
Share what you learn so knowledge doesn't sit with any one person.
Follow privacy and compliance requirements for handling personal health data.

Collaboration and delivery

Turn well-formed stories into working software, and ask questions early when requirements are unclear.
Take part in code review, both giving and acting on feedback.
Raise risks and blockers to the Technical Lead early.

What we are looking for

Must-Have:

At least 4 years of professional full stack development experience.
Ability to work independently from well-defined stories, and to know when to ask for help.
Clear written communication, including documenting your own work.

Technologies

Frontend: React, Next.js, TypeScript
Backend: Python, Node.js

Nice to Have

Experience integrating digital health devices such as wearables and sensors, including their communication protocols (e.g. Bluetooth Low Energy).
Experience in health, life sciences or other regulated industries, including handling sensitive personal data.
Consulting or agency experience.

Who you are

You take ownership of your work from first commit to release.
You write things down so others can pick up where you left off.
You're curious about how things connect, from the interface to the device to the data.

What Appnovation Offers

Challenging and rewarding work with real impact
Direct Access to Cutting-Edge AI Platforms
Diverse and Inclusive Culture
Growth opportunities for personal and professional development
A collaborative and innovative work environment where your ideas are valued
Exposure to exciting projects and high-profile clients
Supportive work environment with access to company leaders
Hybrid working model

Thank you for your interest in a career with Appnovation Technologies! Please note that only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

At Appnovation, we recognize that diverse teams are the strongest teams. Diversity, Equity & Inclusion is not only something that we embrace - we celebrate it! We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and we encourage applicants from all backgrounds, lived experiences and industries to apply. Come join us at Appnovation, and learn more about how we stay true to our company values as we build better lives through better digital.

Accommodations are available upon request throughout the recruitment process.
