Hiring: Senior Java & Apache Spark Developer

Location: Montreal, QC - Onsite

Experience: 7–12+ Years

We are seeking a Senior Java & Apache Spark Engineer to join our engineering team and build scalable, high-performance, data-intensive applications.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Core Java applications.
Build scalable backend services and distributed processing solutions using Java & Apache Spark.
Develop batch and real-time data processing pipelines.
Optimize Spark jobs for performance, scalability, reliability, and resource utilization.
Work with structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
Develop complex SQL queries and perform database/query optimization.
Troubleshoot production issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
Participate in architecture, technical design, code reviews, Agile ceremonies, and mentoring.
Leverage AI-assisted development tools, prompt engineering, and GenAI capabilities to improve engineering productivity.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
7+ years of software development experience.
Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8/11/17+).
Hands-on experience with Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames/Datasets.
Strong knowledge of distributed systems and large-scale data processing.
Excellent understanding of OOP, design patterns, multithreading, concurrency, and JVM performance tuning.
Strong SQL skills and experience with complex query optimization.
Experience with Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL.
Strong Linux/Unix and Git experience.
Excellent analytical, debugging, communication, and problem-solving skills.
