We are looking for an experienced Surety Product Owner to work with business stakeholders, product leaders, business analysts, and Agile engineering teams to deliver business capabilities across the Surety platform.
🔹 Key Responsibilities:
- Work with underwriting, operations, billing, and product teams to gather business requirements.
- Understand the Surety bond lifecycle, including new business, renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements.
- Translate business requirements into features, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Manage and prioritize product backlogs based on business needs.
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and PI Planning.
- Collaborate with developers, QA, and architects on APIs, system integrations, billing, and premium calculations.
- Support integration testing, defect resolution, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
🔹 Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Surety, Commercial Insurance, Specialty Insurance, or a related business domain.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Analyst, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience writing user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
- Hands-on experience with Jira and Confluence.
- Basic understanding of APIs, JSON, data flows, and system integrations.
- Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of Surety bonds, underwriting, rating, and billing is preferred.

Responsibilities
Gather requirements from underwriting, operations, billing, and product stakeholders, then translate them into features, user stories, and acceptance criteria while managing and prioritizing the product backlog. Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with engineering, QA, and architecture teams on integrations, testing, defect resolution, and UAT across the Surety platform.
Requirements
Requires at least two years of experience in Surety, commercial or specialty insurance, or a related domain, and at least two years in product ownership, business analysis, or a similar role. Candidates should have Agile/Scrum experience, hands-on Jira and Confluence skills, familiarity with APIs, JSON, and integrations, and strong communication and analytical abilities; Surety bond knowledge is preferred.
