Original job description

Step into a dynamic role where your detail-oriented problem-solving skills will directly power the seamless flow of online transactions for a leading retail organization. Partnering with Aquent, you will have the unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on a high-volume eCommerce operation, ensuring customer orders move smoothly from click to delivery while collaborating with a diverse network of vendors and internal partners to elevate the overall shopping experience.

About The Partner

Our client is a premier retail organization recognized for its innovative approach to commerce and its commitment to operational excellence. With a rapidly expanding eCommerce footprint, they connect millions of customers with essential goods and services. By joining this team through Aquent, you will contribute to a supportive, forward-thinking environment that values continuous improvement and operational success.

The Opportunity

In this key operational role, you will be the engine behind successful order fulfillment and vendor collaboration. You will dive into daily challenges, investigate order discrepancies, and work cross-functionally to resolve issues before they impact the customer. This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career professional to gain invaluable, hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail environment and build a strong foundation in supply chain and eCommerce operations.

Key Responsibilities

Efficiently manage a busy operational inbox, serving as the primary point of contact for vendor inquiries, store questions, order issues, and customer service escalations.
Conduct thorough investigations into order discrepancies, delayed shipments, cancellations, missing information, and inventory challenges to identify root causes.
Coordinate actively with external vendors and internal stakeholders to gather information, facilitate swift issue resolution, and provide timely updates.
Proactively review daily reports, dashboards, and tracking systems to pinpoint outstanding orders and operational exceptions.
Maintain meticulous records, detailed case notes, and organized tracking systems to ensure data integrity and traceability.
Execute established processes for resolving routine operational issues and adeptly escalate complex situations when required.
Identify and document recurring operational issues, sharing insights to drive continuous process improvements.

What You’ll Bring

1–3 years of experience in a fast-paced environment such as eCommerce operations, order management, vendor support, fulfillment, supply chain, or customer support operations (relevant internship or co-op experience is highly valued).
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple requests, cases, orders, or operational tasks concurrently while consistently meeting deadlines.
Exceptional written communication skills and the confidence to interact professionally with both internal teams and external partners.
Proven practical problem-solving abilities, including the capacity to investigate complex issues thoroughly and drive them to resolution.
Proficiency in using Excel, spreadsheets, reports, or other operational tracking systems to manage and analyze data.
Strong commitment to attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to manage routine, high-volume workloads with precision.
A collaborative, dependable approach and an eagerness to learn new systems and adapt to evolving processes.

What Will Set You Apart

Experience with dropshipping models, online marketplaces, or vendor fulfillment operations.
Familiarity with key supply chain documents and processes such as purchase orders, shipment tracking, advance shipping notices (ASNs), or inventory updates.
Experience utilizing DSCO or similar order and vendor management platforms.
Exposure to Power BI or other operational dashboards for data visualization and analysis.
Previous experience working within a large retail or multi-brand organizational structure.

Why You’ll Love This Role

Build Valuable Expertise: Develop critical skills in online order fulfillment, vendor operations management, and cross-functional problem-solving within a leading retail environment.
Join a Supportive Community: Benefit from established training resources, collaborate with experienced colleagues, and thrive within structured processes designed for success.
Achieve Work-Life Harmony: Be part of a team that prioritizes a consistent work schedule and sustainable working practices, fostering a healthy professional life.
Comprehensive Contract Benefits: As an eligible contractor through Aquent, you will have access to valuable healthcare options, retirement benefits, and paid time off.
