What You’ll Do

As a natural problem solver, communicator, and facilitator, you’ll be involved in every step of the process, from initial idea generation to final implementation. Your contributions will span several key areas, allowing you to lead, innovate, and collaborate across teams, directly shaping user experiences:

Understand and apply user interface patterns and behaviors to enhance user comprehension and task performance.
Utilize visualizations and interactions to support analytical thinking, especially with large data sets.
Facilitate design critique sessions, evaluate interactions for inclusivity, and provide expert advice to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Lead ideation sessions and collaborative work activities to foster innovation.
Act as the subject-matter expert for interaction design within the product design team.
Apply a comprehensive understanding of interaction design theory, visual design theory, research data, and best practices to inform design decisions.
Create complex low-fidelity sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to explore, communicate, and validate ideas.
Develop complex prototypes that provide precise delivery specifications for development teams.
Present interaction design work and rationale to senior stakeholders.
Facilitate and participate in usability testing to gather crucial feedback.
Initiate and contribute to research activities to deepen understanding of user needs.
Research interaction design strategies within its industry and conduct competitive audits relevant to specific design or business goals.
Perform pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits as needed to ensure consistency and quality.

What You’ll Bring

Must-Have Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
A compelling portfolio showcasing application design samples.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.
Experience in an applied research setting, including integrating user research into product designs and design practices.
Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, clearly describing benefits and highlighting risks associated with design decisions.
Demonstrated expertise with design, prototyping, and research tools such as Figma, Mural, UserTesting.com.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

MA/MS degree or certification in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field.
Strong understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of different research methods, including when and how to apply them during each product phase.
Appreciation for the potential of ‘design thinking’.
Experience working within a large organization and within an agile environment.
