Original job description

Aquent is partnering with a pioneering force in the interactive entertainment industry, a studio renowned for crafting immersive and beloved experiences that captivate players worldwide. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the development of groundbreaking console titles, working alongside passionate innovators dedicated to pushing the boundaries of gaming. Your expertise will directly shape the creation process, ensuring seamless collaboration and the successful delivery of high-quality games that leave a lasting impact on millions.

About The Role

Are you a seasoned project management maestro with a passion for bringing ambitious console games to life? We are seeking a dynamic and proactive individual to join a vibrant development team. This critical Project Management role is your chance to be at the heart of game creation, orchestrating complex development cycles and empowering multi-disciplinary teams to achieve their creative vision. You will be instrumental in translating high-level concepts into actionable plans, fostering an environment where innovation thrives, and ensuring every milestone is met with precision and excellence. This is a pure project management role, focused entirely on the successful execution of game development, without the responsibilities of people management or performance feedback.

Your Impact And Responsibilities

As a key driver of our development process, you will be the central hub connecting diverse teams and ensuring a unified path forward. Your proactive approach and innovative mindset will be invaluable as you guide projects from concept to completion. You will:

Lead essential daily stand-ups and production syncs, facilitating critical cross-departmental alignment for a single, unified project.
Develop, maintain, and diligently monitor master production schedules, sprint backlogs, and milestone deliverables utilizing industry-standard tools like Jira and Confluence.
Strategically manage studio resource allocation and optimize team bandwidth to ensure efficient progress.
Proactively identify and track functional dependencies, flagging potential staffing or scope risks early in the development pipeline to mitigate challenges.
Effectively budget task time within Jira, focusing solely on project timelines and resource allocation, without responsibility for financial budgets or external vendor negotiations.
Attend director meetings, distill critical action items, and ensure perfect alignment across all departments, particularly those focused on gameplay features, animation, and level design.

Must-Have Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will bring a proven track record of success and a deep understanding of game development:

Demonstrated experience working directly in console game development, having successfully shipped at least 1–2 titles. Direct, hands-on experience with the iterative process of game making is essential.
Strong command of Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies, specifically tailored for game development pipelines.
Expert-level proficiency in Jira and Confluence for project tracking and collaboration.
Exceptional communication, conflict-resolution, and organizational skills, with a proven ability to motivate and unify multi-disciplinary creative and technical teams.
A foundational technical awareness of game development and asset creation pipelines.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

These additional skills will further enhance your contributions to the team:

Familiarity with Perforce, demonstrating an understanding of version control systems in a game development context.

Client Description

This is an on-going, fulltime contract. Candidates must be eligible and authorized to work in Canada. .
