Original job description

Imagine shaping the digital experiences of millions of users daily, transforming complex interactions into intuitive, seamless journeys that genuinely improve lives. In this pivotal role, you will partner with Aquent to join a global digital leader at the forefront of innovation, where your design vision and expertise will directly influence product strategy and execution. By crafting groundbreaking interaction designs, you will empower users, drive product development, and elevate the standard of digital design within a collaborative, purpose-driven environment.

The Opportunity

We are partnering with an industry-leading organization dedicated to exceptional customer experiences and cutting-edge design. Driven by a mission to enhance communities, this global powerhouse offers an environment where creativity and technical expertise translate directly into powerful, life-enhancing products. By joining this team through Aquent, you will gain access to premium benefits - including subsidized health, vision, and dental plans, retirement matching, and continuous learning opportunities - while working on high-impact projects that redefine digital engagement.

What You Will Do

As a key design leader, you will guide interaction strategies from concept to execution, ensuring every touchpoint is inclusive, effective, and highly intuitive. Your primary responsibilities will include:

Driving user comprehension and optimizing task performance by expertly leveraging user interface patterns and behaviors.
Supporting analytical thinking within large, complex data sets through the creation of innovative visualizations and interactions.
Leading and facilitating design critiques, evaluating interactions for inclusivity, and guiding collaborative ideation sessions and workshops.
Serving as the interaction design subject-matter expert, providing invaluable guidance to cross-functional partners.
Applying a deep understanding of interaction design theory, research data, and industry best practices to inform and justify design decisions.
Designing high-complexity artifacts that clearly communicate task flows, touchpoints, user behaviors, and information exchange.
Creating a range of design deliverables, from low-fidelity sketches to highly complex, interactive prototypes, to explore, validate, and specify designs for development.
Confidently presenting interaction design concepts and strategies to senior leadership, articulating vision and rationale.
Initiating and actively participating in user research activities, and facilitating usability testing to validate design directions and gather insights.
Researching interaction design strategies and performing competitive audits aligned with specific business goals.
Conducting comprehensive pattern, micro-interaction, and component design audits to ensure the health and consistency of the product ecosystem.

Must-Have Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Design (Interaction, Graphic, Visual Communications, Product, Industrial), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
A minimum of 5 years of experience designing usable interfaces across multiple channels and platforms.
Proven experience in an applied research setting, with a track record of successfully integrating user insights into final product designs.
Demonstrated ability to articulate design strategy, rationale, and logic, with the ability to clearly weigh benefits against risks.
Mastery of modern design, prototyping, and research tools.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

An MA/MS degree or specialized certification in a related design or HCI field.
A sophisticated understanding of the strengths and shortcomings of various research methods, knowing exactly when and how to apply them throughout the product lifecycle.
A strong appreciation for and mastery of Design Thinking methodologies.
Prior experience navigating large enterprise organizations within an Agile framework.
