ARC has had an exciting growth story driven by the contributions of our people, principled business strategy and high-performance culture. Today, we are a proud member of the Shell Group, and a Canadian energy company with a strong track record of operational and environmental performance.

In alignment with our values, we are proud to produce Canadian energy safely and efficiently. Producing low-cost, reliable energy strengthens our resilience in the evolving global energy system, and enables ARC to create value for our people, shareholders, stakeholders and communities.

Following our guiding principles has shaped the company we are today and will underpin our success in the future. Through innovation, teamwork and a commitment to operational excellence, our diverse team of people drive our company’s success. From the office to the field, our team of talented professionals work hard each day to safely execute our business and create positive and lasting impacts for our stakeholders.

THE OPPORTUNITY:

Our Engineering teams are currently seeking candidates for multiple 2027 Co-op Student positions across our Production, Completions, Operations Planning, and Data Analytics groups. Complete competitor drilling and completions activity review specific for Montney activity

Prepare fracture communication mitigation plans for single and pad completions

Assist Completions Engineers in well file reviews and programming well completions, reviewing and summarizing technical literature and new technologies, and in data preparation and analysis on technical projects

Operations Planning

Collaborate with Water Engineers, Development Engineers, Production Engineers and Field Operations to evaluate projects that help improve ARC’s water strategy and leading ESG performance

Support the Water Engineering team in planning and designing operations, reporting, cost analysis and continuous improvement objectives

Collaborate with the evaluation of new technologies and methods for de-salination, evaporation, bacteria treatment and dissolved contaminant removal

Assist the team with the evaluation of long-term water strategies

Data Analytics

Engage with a multidisciplinary team of Developers, Analysts, Engineers, and Geoscientists to perform comprehensive data analysis

Develop and implement analytical tools and models to derive insights that support decision-making across various projects

Utilize visualization tools like Spotfire and Power BI to create impactful data representations and dashboards

Write and optimize SQL queries and Python scripts to manipulate and analyze complex datasets

Demonstrate a curious mindset by exploring data to uncover trends, patterns, and stories that inform business strategies

Participate in knowledge-sharing sessions to learn from and contribute to the collective expertise of the team

Support the creation of a collaborative environment where data-driven insights lead to innovative solutions

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO ARC:

These positions are ideally suited for students currently in their second or third year of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Mechanical, Petroleum, or Chemical, or a related degree and are returning to school after the co-op term

Experience leading and contributing to technical projects, including scheduling, delegation, and management of activities

Innate curiosity and the ability to narrate stories through data, demonstrating how numbers can drive business improvements and innovation

Strong computer and data analysis skills are considered an asset

Intermediate MS Office/365 skills including Excel, Word and PowerPoint and prior experience with industry related software and visualization tools is considered an asset

Exceptional written and oral communication skills and can develop positive working relationships with all levels of the organization

Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines

Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities at the same time in a dynamic environment

Petroleum industry related experience will be considered an asset

REWARDING OPPORTUNITY:

An opportunity to be part of delivering responsible energy by developing and growing your career with us

Working collaboratively with, and learning from some of the most talented and experienced people in our industry

A culture of caring and high performance

Focus on health and well-being

An environment where all individuals are treated fairly and respectfully, have equal access to opportunities and resources, feel a sense of belonging, and can contribute fully to the organization’s success

Meaningful work that makes a difference in the Canadian energy industry

We are pleased to share that Shell’s acquisition of ARC Resources Ltd. has now officially closed. This marks an important milestone for both organizations and the beginning of a new chapter together.

ARC Resources Ltd. is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Shell and will continue to operate largely as a standalone business for a period of time before fully integrating.

We thank you for your interest in ARC, however, only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Accessibility accommodation for applicants is available upon request during the talent acquisition process.
