Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:

As the Director of Global Enterprise Planning on the Strategy team, you architect the planning system that connects Arc’teryx’s long-term strategy to annual priorities, resource allocation, and performance accountability. This is a systems-level role: you own the infrastructure that keeps leadership aligned, decisions grounded, and execution honest.

You own the enterprise planning process end-to-end – Strategic Planning Kickoff, Long-term Strategic Planning, AOP/budget prioritization, and Quarterly Business Reporting – while also owning the broader operating infrastructure: Excom and Board of Directors preparation, the strategic calendar, and the decision frameworks that ensure the right conversations happen with the right information at the right time.

You bring both architectural thinking and executional precision. You know when to build a new system and when to simplify an existing one. You are a credible executive partner, comfortable working directly with functional leaders and Finance to drive planning rigour across a complex, global business.

This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid work (or remote Canada with travels to North Vancouver, BC). Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.

Meet Your Future Team:

The Strategy team is a trusted partner to the executive leadership team in the development, prioritization, and oversight of our company strategies working cross-functionally across the business to ensure attainment of our long-term strategic objectives and goals. We provide strategic insights and frameworks to enable strategy development, cross-functional alignment and executive decision making. We are experts at translating complex, unstructured problems into clear executive level narrative and recommendations. Our team leads the company’s long-range strategic planning process, quarterly business reviews, and the development of an integrated performance management framework to connect our strategy to our annual operating budget and tactical operating plan.

\nIf you were the Director, Global Strategy - Enterprise Planning here are some of the core activities you would be doing:

Owning the design, governance, and continuous evolution of the enterprise planning system, ensuring strategic planning, annual operating planning, resource allocation, and performance reporting operate as an integrated enterprise process
Leading the execution of the enterprise planning cycle, including Strategic Planning Kickoff, Long-Term Strategic Planning, and Quarterly Business Reviews, and partnering with Finance on Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and budget prioritization connected to business strategy
Establishing and governing the enterprise planning cadence, ensuring cross-functional alignment, decision readiness, and the timely progression of key strategic milestones
Building and maintaining the decision frameworks, governance structures, and planning standards that support enterprise-wide prioritization, accountability, and effective decision-making
Partnering closely with Finance and business leaders to translate strategic priorities into actionable plans, resource allocation decisions, and measurable outcomes
Leading the planning and coordination of Executive Committee and Board reviews, ensuring strategic issues are clearly framed, decisions are supported by relevant insights, and resulting actions are effectively tracked
Managing the enterprise portfolio of strategic initiatives, tracking progress, interdependencies, risks, and outcomes while escalating issues requiring executive attention
Developing scenarios, business cases, and trade-off analyses that enable leaders to evaluate opportunities, risks, investments, and resource allocation decisions
Providing fact-based analysis, insights, and recommendations to support executive decision-making, prioritization, and enterprise performance discussions
Establishing enterprise performance management frameworks, scorecards, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms that drive accountability, transparency, and execution against strategic objectives
Driving alignment across executive leadership, functions, regions, Finance, and Amer Sports to establish a consistent enterprise planning and performance management operating model
Maintaining visibility to key strategic and execution risks, ensuring mitigation plans are developed, monitored, and integrated into enterprise planning processes
Developing executive-level communications, planning documents, and leadership briefings that translate complex business information into clear priorities, recommendations, and actions
Serving as the steward of enterprise planning effectiveness, continuously evaluating planning processes, governance, and reporting mechanisms to improve decision quality, organizational alignment, and business outcomes
Developing and maintaining the tools, templates, governance processes, and planning methodologies that strengthen enterprise planning capability and support execution against strategic and business plans

Building repeatable frameworks and playbooks for planning processes that reduce dependency on heroic individual effort and increase organizational capability
Partnering with Finance and regional teams to develop integrated financial and strategic planning models that connect long-range ambition to annual resource reality
Developing the next generation of performance management tools - moving from tracking to accountability, and from reporting to action
Supporting the Strategy team’s broader operating model evolution as new capability areas come online

Are you our next Director, Global Strategy - Enterprise Planning?

You have a bachelor’s degree in business, strategy, or related field
You have 10+ years of professional work experience in strategic planning, management consulting, project management, consumer products and/or retail
You have a demonstrated track record as an outstanding problem solver and strategic You think in systems – you can see how the strategic planning connects to the budget planning, how the QBR connects to accountability, and how the strategic calendar creates or destroys leadership bandwidth
You are a credible executive partner with the communication skills to work directly with a CDR and functional leaders, and to translate complexity into decisions
You have significant experience partnering with Finance on resource allocation, budget prioritization, and performance tracking
You bring sharp analytical capability and strong written communication, and you can build a rigorous framework and write a clear executive brief
You have experience working across regional and global operating models, ideally with exposure to retail or consumer-facing businesses
You are organized without being rigid, and you know when the plan needs to change and how to move the system accordingly
You demonstrate high emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and the ability to influence without authority across senior stakeholders
You hold yourself and others to a high standard for quality of thinking, clarity of communication, and follow-through

Compensation:

The salary range for this role is CAD$149,000 - CAD$195,000
