Original job description
Arcanus Aerial Systems Inc. is a Canadian defence technology company headquartered at Bay Adelaide Centre in downtown Toronto. We design, manufacture and integrate unmanned systems for Canada, NATO and allied governments, across UAS, counter-UAS and integrated defence solutions in the air, land and sea domains. We are a small, fast-growing team with an expanding manufacturing footprint and a growing group of private investors.
The Role
We are hiring a Marketing & Investor Relations Specialist to build Arcanus’s voice with government buyers, the defence community and our investors. This is a hands-on, build-from-scratch role on a small team: you will set up our social channels and content engine in the first 90 days, then support investor communications as the company grows.
First 90-Days
- Launch a consistent Arcanus presence on LinkedIn, Instagram and X, with a weekly content calendar
- Refresh the website, corporate deck and one-page fact sheet into one coherent brand
- Set up investor update templates, a contact database and an approval workflow for every external release
- Plan our presence at upcoming defence trade shows such as CANSEC
The Job
Marketing and social media
- Own the Arcanus brand across LinkedIn, Instagram, X, YouTube and the website
- Plan and publish a steady stream of content: product video, field and test footage, partner news, team and hiring stories, event coverage
- Grow executive presence on LinkedIn, including ghost-writing posts for senior leaders
- Produce sales collateral for government and military buyers: product sheets, capability briefs and trade-show materials
- Run trade-show and conference logistics, booths and follow-up
- Track reach, engagement and inbound leads, and report monthly
Investor Communications
- Maintain investor materials: corporate deck, fact sheet and investor FAQ
- Prepare regular updates for shareholders and prospective investors
- Coordinate investor meetings, calls and events
- Manage the investor contact database and respond to enquiries
- Draft press releases with management and counsel
- Run every external release through our approval process before it goes out
Communications discipline
- Keep all public statements accurate and consistent, including how we describe contracts, pipeline and partners
- Work within Controlled Goods, export-control and disclosure rules that apply to a defence company; we will train you on our standards.
What you Bring
Required
- 3+ years in marketing, communications or investor relations, ideally at a startup or growth-stage company
- A portfolio of social content and campaigns you built and ran, with results
- Strong writing: you can draft a press release, an investor update and a LinkedIn post in the same afternoon
- Comfortable explaining technical products clearly to non-technical audiences
- Hands-on with Canva or Adobe, LinkedIn and Meta business tools, and basic video editing
- Eligible to work in Canada and able to meet Controlled Goods Program security screening
Nice to have
- Experience in defence, aerospace, public safety or government marketing
- Experience preparing investor materials or communicating with investors
- Trade-show and event management
- French or another language relevant to allied export markets
