Company Description Arctava Canada Inc. is a Canadian commercialization partner that supports biopharmaceutical companies in commercializing their products in Canada. The company operates as a unified, cross-functional team, connecting pricing, reimbursement, regulatory, medical, advocacy and commercial decisions to help clients succeed in a complex healthcare environment. Arctava provides integrated services in commercial and corporate consulting, medical and regulatory, pricing and reimbursement, and advocacy. Its partners are seasoned industry leaders with deep experience in building and leading these functions in the Canadian market, supporting organizations from initial molecule development through to market entry and specific strategic challenges.

Role Description The Director, Pricing & Market Access will lead the design and delivery of pricing and market access strategies for our client base. Reporting to the Chief Access Officer, this individual will serve as a senior subject-matter expert on Canadian market access, including public and private payer environments, health technology assessment (HTA) processes, pricing and reimbursement pathways, and provincial formulary dynamics.

This is primarily a market access leadership role. Experience with patient/clinician advocacy, health/drug policy development and government relations will be considered a valuable asset, but is not a requirement for candidates who bring strong, demonstrated market access expertise.

Qualifications:

Market Access Strategy & Execution (Primary Focus)

  • Lead the development and execution of comprehensive market access strategies for client products across the Canadian landscape (CDA-AMC, INESSS, provincial drug programs, pCPA, and private payers)
  • Advise clients on pricing, reimbursement, and health technology assessment submissions, including value proposition development and evidence strategy
  • Interpret HTA guidelines, payer requirements, and reimbursement policy changes, translating them into actionable client recommendations
  • Oversee the development of payer value dossiers, pricing strategy documents, and reimbursement submission materials
  • Provide strategic guidance on pCPA negotiations and provincial listing agreement processes
  • Monitor and analyze the evolving Canadian pricing and reimbursement environment (e.g., PMPRB guidelines, national pharmacare developments) and advise clients on implications for product strategy
  • Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver integrated market access solutions, often collaborating with commercial, health economics, regulatory, and medical affairs specialists
  • Serve as a trusted senior advisor and primary client contact for market access engagements, managing relationships with VP/C-suite level client stakeholders.

Business Development & Client Management

  • Support business development efforts, including proposal development, scoping of engagements, and identification of new client opportunities
  • Represent Arctava at industry conferences, payer forums, and relevant Canadian life sciences events
  • Contribute to thought leadership content (whitepapers, webinars, market access insights) that reinforces Arctava's positioning as a leading Canadian consultancy.

Team Leadership & Practice Development

  • Contribute to the build-out of Arctava's market access methodologies, tools, and internal knowledge base
  • Partner with the Chief Access Officer to shape the strategic direction and growth of the Market Access practice area
  • As the practice scales, take on direct people management responsibilities, including hiring, performance management, and career development for market access team members.

Advocacy (Asset, Not Required)

  • Where relevant to client needs, contribute to or advise on patient advocacy group/clinician engagement, health/drug policy positioning and government relations strategies that complement market access objectives
  • Support integrated commercial and access strategies that align market access planning with stakeholder and advocacy considerations, where applicable.
