Job Title: Data Engineer
Location: Markham, ON (Onsite)
Exp. Required: 10+ years

Job Summary:
- Experience in the insurance industry and ability to understand underwriting data terminology.
- Experience supporting finance systems.
- Proven experience as an ETL Developer using Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica BDM.
- Proven experience as a Database Developer, with hands-on experience writing DDL and DML statements for relational databases.
- Experience writing complex SQL queries for ad hoc reporting.
- Experience with automation tools such as Control-M and ASG Zena.
- Experience writing Unix scripts.
- Experience with reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects and Qlik.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with Agile methodology and JIRA.
- Above-average communication and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in drafting and comprehending business requirements documents.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities
Develop and support ETL processes and relational databases using Informatica tools, DDL and DML, and complex SQL queries for ad hoc reporting. Support finance systems and reporting, automate workflows, and collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and insurance underwriting data.
Requirements
Requires 10+ years of experience, including insurance industry knowledge, understanding of underwriting data terminology, and experience supporting finance systems. Candidates should have hands-on ETL and database development experience, knowledge of data warehousing, automation and reporting tools, Unix scripting, Agile and JIRA experience, and strong communication and problem-solving skills.
