At Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Partnership (MLSE), we exist to deliver the ultimate fan experience by lifting trophies, spirits, and communities – united as one.

We're more than a workplace. We are a team of passionate people, boldly building the future of sport and entertainment, together. We believe in the power of play, the strength of collaboration, and the energy that comes from showing up with purpose.

From the ice to the pitch, the hardwood to the digital arena, we’re proud to be the driving force behind the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL), the Toronto Raptors (NBA), Toronto FC (MLS), Toronto Argonauts (CFL) and development teams with the Toronto Marlies (AHL), Raptors 905 (NBA G League), Toronto FC II (MLS NEXT Pro League) and Raptors Uprising Gaming Club, the Toronto Raptors Esports franchise in the NBA 2K League.

We bring these teams – and world-class entertainment – to life at our iconic venues, including Scotiabank Arena, BMO Field, Coca-Cola Coliseum, Ford Performance Centre, BMO Training Ground, and OVO Athletic Centre. Off the field, we serve up elevated dining at e11even, Real Sports, and our signature club spaces like Hot Stove Club, ScotiaClub, and Platinum Club.

Through MLSE Foundation and MLSE LaunchPad, we use the power of sport to help youth facing barriers reach their full potential. Since 2009, we’ve invested more than $45 million into Ontario communities -- and we’re just getting started.

This is what it means to be One MLSE: a culture where everyone plays a role, everyone belongs, and everyone contributes to something bigger than themselves.

So, if you're ready to play with purpose, grow with passion, and win as one, we’d love to have you on our team.

** We know that great candidates come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Even if you do not meet every qualification listed, we encourage you to apply. Your unique perspective, transferable skills, and lived experience may be exactly what we’re looking for. **

Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Venue Technology & Broadcast Systems, the Systems Engineer will contribute to the design, support and maintenance of all production, broadcast, and venue presentation technologies in an environment that is primarily focused on live sports and entertainment production.

If you are an Audiovisual or Broadcast Technician or existing A/V or Broadcast Engineer looking to expand your growing skillset, we want to speak with you. When the Fans at Scotiabank Arena attend a professional sporting event, concert or private event, they are seeing and hearing the work that you perform. Every LED display, every speaker, every LCD display leverages an infrastructure that you will help maintain and operate during live events. Broadcast cameras and video switchers, facility-wide routing systems, fibre-optic transmission gear, IP-enabled tools and cloud-based operating environments are all part of the daily mix. Designing better ways to work and troubleshooting calmly and efficiently when something doesn’t work is the challenge provided.

If this pressure doesn’t scare you, and actually makes you excited, then we want to talk with you. If your current skillset lines up with the requirements listed below, please apply and let’s chat about your career with MLSE.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the Engineering Team, contribute to the design and support of MLSE’s venue technology infrastructure at all venues
Assist in procurement, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of venue and broadcast equipment and operating systems with confidence to lead any of these activities when required
Ensure control room equipment and display systems at all MLSE venues are meeting and exceeding expectations of all stakeholders
Assist the Engineer-In-Charge with maintaining and ensuring compliance of all league-related technologies
Work with all stakeholders to establish technical strategies and ensure the integrity of technical investments are meeting and exceeding presentation requirements
Actively monitor, support and maintain operational health of systems during scheduled live events at all MLSE venues
Maintain a progressive, innovative outlook on the use of technology
Liaise with EIC, Engineering Technicians, Technical Producers, Coordinators and clients to contribute to the design and support of permanent and temporary installations
Due to the nature of a live event environment and professional sports leagues, duties and responsibilities will change as circumstances dictate

REQUIREMENTS:

Formal education in a related field or equivalent work experience of at least 5 years.
Minimum 3 years’ experience providing live-event operational support
Demonstrated growth to senior level responsibilities in live broadcast, event presentation and/or A/V engineering support.
Demonstrated knowledge of current digital video, audio and data production tools and IP-based broadcast and presentation environments (e.g. SMPTE-2110, IPMX, SDI, MADI, AES67, DANTE)
Demonstrated knowledge of broadcast system design principles, signal path methodologies and the ability to read system drawings
Ability and confidence to lead a project from concept through installation and support
Ability to obtain “Working at Heights” certification
Nice to have familiarity with LED video displays and associated technologies
Bonus points if you have “Scissor Lift” operation certification
Bonus points if you have AVIXIA, CompTIA A+, Network+ or similar certification
Bonus points if you have experience working with AutoCAD, Draw.io, SketchUp or other system design tools
Must be available to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required

Job Posting Compensation Range/Rate:

$75,000 - $80,000
