What You’ll Do
- Build smart, efficient freight plans that reduce empty miles and boost delivery capacity.
- Match the right loads to the right trucks - balancing destinations, deadlines, and fleet availability like a pro.
- Keep a pulse on multiple moving parts: driver hours, loading sequences, mileage, service windows - you name it.
- Proactively find capacity to move freight and keep things flowing.
- Tackle problem shipments with urgency and precision.
- Keep stakeholders informed by monitoring shipment status and flagging issues before they become problems.
- Act as the go-to contact for both internal teams and external clients - making sure everyone’s in the loop and on the same page.
- 2+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CITT) or education in logistics, supply chain, or transportation is an asset.
- A strong understanding of Atlantic Canada geography is a bonus!
- A multitasking master with excellent time management skills.
- A self-starter who thrives on making smart, data-driven decisions.
- A natural problem-solver who can think fast and negotiate effectively.
- Adaptable and calm under pressure - even when priorities shift or timelines tighten.
- Comfortable with Microsoft Office tools - especially Excel and Outlook.
- Familiarity with TruckMate or similar TMS software? That’s a plus.
- A dynamic, fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
- High-energy communication via phone, email, and satellite systems.

Responsibilities
Develop efficient freight plans, match loads with trucks, and coordinate capacity, driver hours, mileage, loading sequences, and service windows to improve fleet performance. Monitor shipments, resolve urgent issues, and communicate status and potential problems to internal teams and external clients.
Requirements
Requires at least two years of experience in transportation, logistics, or a related field. Logistics, supply chain, or transportation education or certifications such as CITT are an asset; familiarity with Microsoft Office and strong planning, communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills are also sought.
