Role Description

An established, family-owned Canadian manufacturer with decades of experience serving the high-end residential market across the United States is entering an exciting new chapter as it expands its presence in Toronto.

We are seeking an experienced Showroom Designer to play a key role in this growth. This new role is ideal for a design professional who combines strong technical expertise, a sense of high-end design, and a customer facing skillset with the ambition to help establish and grow a luxury residential showroom.

The successful candidate will oversee projects from initial client consultation through design development, quoting, and completion, while cultivating industry relationships and driving new business opportunities in the Toronto market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Meet with clients to understand their design vision, functional requirements, and budgets.
  • Develop sophisticated kitchen and whole-home custom millwork designs, including layouts, technical drawings, and material selections.
  • Conduct site measurements and interpret architectural plans and specifications.
  • Prepare accurate quotations, present design proposals, and guide clients through the sales process.
  • Manage project coordination, including communication with manufacturing teams, trades, and installers.
  • Collaborate with Order Processing teams to prepare accurate custom orders for production.
  • Build and maintain relationships with architects, interior designers, builders, and homeowners.
  • Oversee showroom operations and drive new business opportunities in the Toronto market.

Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in high-end kitchen design, cabinetry, or custom residential millwork.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD or comparable design software, with the ability to produce accurate technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of Revit is an asset; or a strong willingness to learn Revit.
  • Thorough understanding of custom cabinetry construction, materials, finishes, and installation requirements.
  • Proven sales ability, including client presentations, quoting, and project conversion.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Appreciation for contemporary European and Italian design.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects from concept through completion.

Compensation & Benefits

This role will be a combination of base pay and a commission structure, commensurate with experience and opportunities for growth.
