Reporting to the Supervisor - Dispatch, the Hot Seat Coordinator is responsible for coordinating workforce deployment, operator relief activities, and hot seating requirements across Mine Operations. The role works closely with Dispatch, Supervisors, and Operators to ensure equipment remains staffed, breaks are coordinated efficiently, and workforce movement is managed safely throughout the shift. The Hot Seat Coordinator maintains real-time awareness of equipment assignments and operator availability to support safe and productive mining operations. This position also maintains the knowledge and capability to perform dispatch duties and provide dispatch coverage as required.

Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate effective safety leadership by addressing and enforcing BW Gold's safety standards, procedures, and safety systems.
- Coordinate all hot seating activities across Mine Operations to ensure safe and efficient workforce transitions.
- Work closely with Dispatch to coordinate operator breaks and relief activities while minimizing impacts to production.
- Ensure all operators receive their allotted breaks in accordance with company policy and applicable regulations.
- Coordinate, communicate, and document hot seat schedules, shift change activities, and operator movements, ensuring accurate information is maintained and communicated to Dispatch, Supervisors, and operational personnel.
- Coordinate with Dispatch to synchronize fuelling delays with hot seating opportunities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Monitor workforce assignments and operator availability throughout the shift and adjust deployment plans as operational requirements change.
- Maintain real-time awareness of equipment staffing requirements and proactively address workforce coverage gaps.
- Coordinate operator assignments, equipment moves, and workforce reallocations as directed by Mine Operations leadership.
- Assist with coordinating shift change activities to ensure equipment remains staffed and production disruptions are minimized.
- Maintain accurate records of workforce movements, equipment assignments, and operational staffing changes.
- Assist with completing operational data audits and ensuring the accuracy of mine operations records and reporting.
- Support the development and maintenance of crew lineups and workforce assignment records.
- Communicate workforce deployment information to Supervisors and Dispatch to support operational decision making.
- Support training activities by coordinating trainee assignments and equipment placements as directed by Operations leadership.
- Provide current workforce assignment information during emergency response situations when required.
- Maintain the knowledge, skills, and capability to perform the Dispatcher role and provide dispatch coverage as required.
- Participate in all current and future continuous improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of open pit mining experience.
- Previous experience in mine operations, dispatch, supervision, workforce coordination, or a related operational role.
- Working knowledge of open pit mining equipment, production processes, and mining operations.
- Experience coordinating personnel assignments and operational activities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with fleet management systems and dispatch software considered an asset.
- Minestar experience considered an asset.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Outlook.
- Strong understanding of site safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Previous dispatch experience considered an asset.
- Ability to work at a remote location camp on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotation.
- Comfortable working and living in close quarters with the team.
- Ability to maintain high levels of performance over a 12-hour shift.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously in a dynamic operational environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate workforce records.
