Company Description: Asgard Consulting is a national corporate finance advisory firm supporting Canadian owner-operated businesses in funding growth while maintaining control of their companies. The firm takes a grants-first approach, identifying non-dilutive funding options such as tax credits, government programs, and incentives before considering equity or additional debt. Asgard’s work spans debt structuring, non-dilutive capital, M&A advisory, and creative financing for transactions typically ranging from $500K to $25M+ across multiple sectors including manufacturing, technology, and real estate development. The team includes experienced finance professionals, including CPAs, CFAs, and former senior operators, and has supported more than 160 clients in securing over $650M in funding. Headquartered in Calgary with team members across Alberta, Ontario, and Quebec, Asgard serves clients across Canada and works as an extension of their management teams.

Location: Calgary, AB (Hybrid)

Type: Full-time, permanent

Compensation: Base salary plus per-deal bonus, structured based on experience.

The Role

We are hiring a Junior Finance Advisor to work alongside our senior advisory team on live client files. You will build financial models, prepare lender submissions and credit memos, support buyer-side due diligence, and help clients access the funding programs they qualify for. This is a seat with real transaction exposure from day one, not a back-office analyst role.

What You'll Do

Financial Analysis and Modelling

Build and maintain operating models, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
Normalize and analyze client financial statements; calculate and stress-test DSCR, EBITDA, and working capital positions.
Run sensitivity and scenario analysis to support financing and acquisition decisions.

Lender and Capital Work

Draft financing memos, credit summaries, and supporting schedules for bank, BDC, and private credit submissions.
Prepare and track applications for non-dilutive funding, including SR&ED, IRAP, and federal and provincial grant programs.
Coordinate information requests between clients and lenders and keep files moving.

Transaction Support

Support buyer-side due diligence, including quality of earnings review, data room organization, and issue tracking.
Assist with valuation analysis, deal structuring, and letters of intent.

Client and File Management

Prepare client-ready deliverables that are accurate, well-formatted, and complete on the first pass.
Maintain organized file records, track deadlines and deliverables, and follow up on outstanding items.

What You Bring

A degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to build a model from a blank sheet.
Strong written communication and attention to detail. Our documents go to credit committees.
Sound judgment and discretion with confidential client information.
The ability to manage competing deadlines across multiple client files.

Considered an Asset

CPA designation, or CPA in progress.
CFA designation, or CFA in progress.
Relevant banking or commercial lending experience, particularly in credit adjudication or business banking.
Exposure to Canadian lending programs such as CSBFP, BDC, EDC, FCC, or AFSC.
Experience with SR&ED claims, or familiarity with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting platforms.
