Original job description

Ashling Partners is leading the charge in the intelligent automation and agentic AI revolution! We empower clients to enhance productivity and employee engagement by harnessing the power of intelligent process automation, RPA, Process Intelligence, agentic AI, data capture/OCR, and Machine Learning technologies. Our team utilizes lean agile principles to ensure automation gains are sustainable and serve as a catalyst for digital innovation.

Founded by veterans in business process improvement and technology, Ashling Partners is committed to providing meaningful work for our employees while delivering tangible value to our clients in a sustainable, continuous manner. We prioritize progress over perfection and are dedicated to fostering a positive, appreciative, and fun culture. Proudly listed on the INC Best Workplace list for 2021, and #4 on Crain's Chicago Fast 50 for 2024, we continue to strive for excellence.

Our rapidly expanding organization is making waves globally, establishing ourselves as the premier boutique in intelligent automation. We are seeking life-long learners and servant-leaders who are passionate about innovation and the future of work. If this sounds like the perfect place for you, we would love to meet you!

What You’ll Do

As a Senior Manager, you will lead multiple project teams and workstreams within complex client engagements. You’ll be accountable for successful delivery, client value, project quality, profitability, and the development of the people on your teams.

Client & Program Leadership

Lead multiple teams of Project Leads, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and Low-code/Automation/AI Developers across an engagement.
Own the overall program plan, delivery cadence, dependencies, and handoffs across workstreams.
Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and serve as a key escalation point for complex issues.
Set and maintain quality standards across project teams and ensure deliverables meet expectations before reaching the client.
Anticipate client needs, identify opportunities to create additional value, and communicate project outcomes effectively.
Manage risks, issues, scope changes, and escalations while understanding their commercial impact.
Identify and drive business development opportunities within existing client relationships.

Delivery & Commercial Excellence

Own project outcomes and ensure teams are aligned to client-value and profitability goals.
Oversee project financial and administrative processes, including resource allocation, time capture, invoicing, and financial reporting.
Support proposals, client estimates, and contract development.
Anticipate delivery challenges and proactively develop solutions to keep projects on track.
Ensure teams consistently apply the Ashling Methodology and maintain strong project practices.

People & Organizational Leadership

Develop and coach consultants, managers, and emerging leaders across client-facing roles.
Provide meaningful feedback and performance reviews while supporting ongoing capability development.
Participate in recruiting and hiring decisions for your teams.
Lead internal initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement across Ashling.
Partner with the People Team to strengthen training and development programs.
Share lessons learned and help improve how Ashling delivers its services.

What You’ll Bring

7+ years of consulting experience in business transformation and technology, with a proven track record of successful project and program delivery.
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Computer Science, Business, Information Technology, or a related field.
3+ years of direct people management experience, including managing consultants and managers, performance reviews, and capability development.
Strong project and program management skills, including the ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Credibility and confidence working with senior client stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Understanding of project financial management, including resource planning, time tracking, invoicing, and profitability.
Experience managing portfolio profitability, resource forecasting, and hiring.
Strong independent decision-making skills and the ability to navigate difficult engagement and people decisions.
Ability to translate company strategy into clear, actionable direction for teams and explain the “why” behind decisions and organizational changes.
A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with evolving technologies and practices.

How You’ll Be Measured

Your performance will be evaluated across three areas: Client Impact, Functional Excellence, and Ashling Impact. Success will be measured against company, team, and individual goals established annually. Advancement is based on demonstrated performance at the next level rather than tenure.

Why Ashling Partners:

At Ashling Partners, we strive to provide meaningful work in a positive, appreciative and fun culture for our own team. All firm members are referred to as “Ohana,” the Hawaiian word for family, with regards to extended family beyond relatives. The concept emphasizes that extended families are bound together by a common belief, attitude or purpose and members must cooperate and remember one another.

Lifelong Learning - In the intelligent automation and AI space change happens fast, in order to support that change, Ashling has developed a culture that enables lifelong learners to continuously develop their skill sets.
Diversity of Thought, Culture, Background & Identity – We build diversity, equity, and inclusion capabilities into all facets of our business to support innovation, creativity, and our global growth objectives.
Consistently Innovate with Cutting Edge Technology – We offer a continuous model for performance improvement and the opportunity to work with best of breed automation technology stacks.
Provide Servant-Based Leadership – We believe the leader’s role is to serve the organization, not the other way around.
Practice Stewardship – We work together as peers, regardless of a person’s formal role or authority in the organization.
Be Entrepreneurial in Management – We empower people to bring ideas and challenge them with the responsibility to make them successful.
Offer Open-Book Finance – We give everyone the opportunity to see the books, how we are being measured and what our score is, so they can feel empowered to impact success.
Provide the Best Service – We may not be the cheapest, but we will deliver the best value to our clients.
Make Data-Driven Decisions – We are a data-driven organization internally and externally.
Be a fun place to work - We provide a positive, appreciative and fun culture.
