About the Role

We are seeking a Techician 3, Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) to join our team at our Brantford Bakery. As a Tech 3, FSQA, you will be accountable for protecting food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance through sampling, testing, inspections, and documentation activities. This role plays a critical part in ensuring products consistently meet customer, company, and food safety requirements while supporting a culture of continuous quality improvement.

Shift & Schedule

Shift: Continental rotating 12- hour shift
Hours: 5:45 am/pm to 6:00 pm/am (bi weekly rotation between days and nights)
Weekend Availability: Required (every other week)

Compensation

Hourly Rate: $29.50 plus aaplicable shift premiums

Core Accountabilities (What You'll Be Doing)

Conduct food safety and quality assurance activities to support compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards.
Monitor and verify Quality Management System (QMS), HACCP, GMP, and food safety program requirements.
Perform product sampling, testing, evaluations, and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and established procedures.
Identify, document, communicate, and escalate food safety or quality non-conformances and support corrective actions.
Execute product hold and release transactions within SAP based on food safety and quality requirements.
Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams to maintain food safety, hygiene, and quality standards throughout the facility.
Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance product quality, food safety performance, and customer satisfaction.

Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring to the Table)

High school diploma or equivalent.
Strong work ethic and effective verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated mathematical, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
Experience using computers, including Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
Ability to accurately follow procedures, complete documentation, and maintain detailed records.
Ability to work in a production environment and perform routine inspections, sampling, and testing activities.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to food safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications (Extra Ingredients for Success)

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Human Ecology, or a related discipline.
HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) training.
Training or experience with Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards such as SQF or BRCGS.
Experience working in a food manufacturing or bakery environment.
Knowledge of food safety systems, quality assurance processes, and regulatory compliance requirements.
