The Opportunity

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Conveyance Engineer to join our team in our Vancouver office. In this role you will be responsible for project resourcing, business planning, and technical mentorship of engineers and technologists.

What You’ll Do

Support the Water Group and Division Manager with the expansion of Associated’s Conveyance business in BC.
Work with senior staff to identify project opportunities, lead proposal development, and manage project execution.
Mentor Junior and Intermediate Engineers and Technologists.
Assist the Water Group and Division managers with the resourcing of projects, business planning, revenue forecasting and career planning.
Lead the Vancouver Water Division’s Conveyance Practice. This may include: Early identification and development of project opportunities through market intelligence and networking; Developing teaming relationships with specialist consultants and other partners to support proposal strategies.
Lead the Pursuit, Design and Delivery of Conveyance projects and pursuits that may include: Large Diameter Water Mains, Forcemains, Gravity Sewers, Water, Wastewater and Drainage Pump stations, Trenchless projects.
Involvement in the Civil Design for Reservoirs, Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities, and associated Valve Chambers and Hydraulic Control Structures.
Participate in the recruitment of additional engineers and technologists as required.
Connect and work with your colleagues across the country to support project resourcing and to build your network.
Participate and take leadership role in Discipline Interest Groups and Communities of Practice.

Does this sound like you?

Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited post secondary institution.
Registered with EGBC as a P.Eng.
10+ years of experience in conveyance design, engineering, construction and management of which a minimum of 5 years is in a consulting capacity.
Consulting and/or professional experience in B.C. is an asset.
Experience in business development in both private and public sectors.
Experience in liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants.
Experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
Committed team player and an independent worker.
Ability to travel across Canada.
Possess a valid driver's licence.

Lead the Vancouver Water Division’s conveyance practice, including identifying business opportunities, developing proposals, and leading the pursuit, design, and delivery of conveyance projects. Support business planning, project resourcing, revenue forecasting, recruitment, and the mentoring and career development of engineers and technologists.

Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and registration as a Professional Engineer with EGBC, along with 10 or more years of conveyance experience, including at least five years in consulting. Candidates should bring business development and client liaison experience, staff mentoring ability, strong communication and organizational skills, and willingness to travel across Canada.
