Original job description

At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you - the unique, authentic you - to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

Leadership is in our DNA at ATB, reflecting our commitment to developing world-class leaders who can truly thrive. Our Leader DNA model sets the standard for how we lead people, drive business performance, and shape a dynamic future. This is the place for purpose-driven individuals ready to deliver impactful leadership every day.

About the role

This position has a hybrid work arrangement. On average, this means 1-2 day(s) on-site per week. Please note that this is subject to change due to business priorities.

As ATB’s next Senior Manager, Cloud & AI Security, you’ll lead a team responsible for securing ATB’s cloud platforms and enabling the safe adoption of AI. You’ll set the security roadmap, establish standards and guardrails, and partner with technology and business teams to embed security into how cloud and AI solutions are designed, deployed and operated. Your leadership will help protect client and business data, manage emerging risks and support innovation across ATB.

Accountabilities

Lead the Cloud & AI Security team, setting priorities, developing talent and delivering security capabilities aligned with ATB’s business objectives and risk appetite.
Define and execute the cloud and AI security roadmap in partnership with technology, cybersecurity, data and business leaders.
Establish security standards, architectures and guardrails for cloud platforms, AI solutions and supporting infrastructure.
Embed security into cloud and AI solution design, development and deployment through practical guidance, automated controls and security reviews.
Oversee the identification, assessment and remediation of cloud and AI security risks, including identity and access, data protection, configuration weaknesses and third-party exposure.
Partner with security operations and incident response teams to strengthen detection, investigation and response capabilities for cloud and AI environments.
Advise stakeholders on emerging threats, technology decisions and security trade-offs, translating technical risks into clear business recommendations.
Measure and report on security posture, control effectiveness and roadmap delivery, supporting governance, audit and regulatory requirements.

Skills, experience & requirements

Seven or more years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including security engineering, architecture or security program delivery.
Five or more years of experience designing, implementing or overseeing security controls in public cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud.
Strong knowledge of cloud security architecture, identity and access management, network security, encryption, secrets management, logging and security monitoring.
Experience integrating security into infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment processes.
Working knowledge of AI and generative AI security risks, including prompt injection, sensitive data exposure, insecure integrations and model or supply chain vulnerabilities.
Ability to translate security risks into practical requirements and influence decisions across technical teams, business stakeholders and senior leadership.
Experience applying security frameworks and supporting risk assessments, audits and regulatory obligations; financial services experience is an asset.
A degree or diploma in cybersecurity, computer science or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM or cloud security certifications are an asset.

Don’t meet all the requirements on the list?
A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role - but you might not check all the boxes - we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.

We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed - their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.

What happens next?
If you are shortlisted, you’ll hear from us after the posting closes. Check out our How We Hire page to learn more about our hiring process. If you need any accommodations throughout this process, please let us know at talentteam@atb.com
