Original job description

At ATB, we exist to make it possible for our clients, team members and communities. Our purpose is more than aspirational. It's a real commitment we live every day through our values (what we call the ATB ID).

Life at ATB is about more than work. In fact, we’re consistently recognized as one of Canada's top employers thanks to our high-care, high-performance culture, upheld by the three commitments we make to our team members:

Impact in action: No matter where you are in the organization, you're empowered to make an impact in the lives of our clients and communities.

Thrive together: We want you - the unique, authentic you - to feel safe and celebrated at work. We're on a continuous journey to build the most flexible and inclusive programs.

Ready for tomorrow: We want to enable your success through interesting and challenging work, performance enablement, and learning and development.

About the Role

As ATB's next Senior Financial Advisor, Imagine running your own enterprise, but with the backing, support, and resources of an award-winning financial institution. As a Senior Financial Advisor at ATB Wealth, you aren’t just managing portfolios - you are crafting legacies. You are the architect of your clients’ financial futures, dedicated to making their time richer, their aspirations closer, and their happiness deeper. If you are an entrepreneurial spirit who thrives on autonomy and loves the art of building genuine, lasting connections, you have found your home. You’ll act as the bridge between our clients’ unique dreams and our deep bench of internal experts, creating integrated advice that feels personal, not institutional. We aren’t looking for someone who just talks finance; we are looking for someone who listens to what is being said - and what isn’t

Accountabilities

Holistic Financial Planning & Investment Design: Deliver comprehensive, tailored financial strategies and complex investment solutions, including mutual funds and securities, that support long-term wealth goals and adapt to evolving client complexity.
Proactive Client Relationship Management: Anticipate client needs by providing timely, value-added guidance that connects personal aspirations to financial strategy and ensures a supportive client journey.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Utilize strong business judgment to coordinate with internal teams, driving client-focused results and ensuring seamless operational execution.
Client Engagement & Trust Building: Proactively engage clients to challenge and refine their financial decisions, fostering deep, long-term trust and ensuring their best interests remain at the heart of every interaction.
Operational & Advisory Workflow: Efficiently manage the end-to-end financial planning process, ensuring accurate service delivery while prioritizing meaningful client interactions.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

Proven ability to develop your book of business through leveraging community networks.
Effective relationship building, communication and discovery skills.
Ability to meet or exceed required sales goals.
An established COI network.
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
Demonstrated proficiency with the use of virtual communication tools.
Highly organized and able to meet time sensitive deadlines.
5 - 7+ years of sales and customer experience in the financial services industry (preferably Wealth Management) with proven ability to develop and grow a book of investment clients.
Ability to be immediately registered as an RR (Registered Representative) through CIRO.
Undergraduate degree in Commerce, Economics, Business or a related field (equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered).
Completed or working towards the QAFP and/or the CFP designation would be considered an asset.

Don’t meet all the requirements on the list?
A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring. If you believe your skills and experience align with the role - but you might not check all the boxes - we want to hear from you. We encourage candidates from all work backgrounds, equity-seeking communities and experience levels to apply. If you’re seeking a career where your drive, perspective and growth are celebrated, we want to hear from you.

We’re dedicated to building a workforce reflective of those within our communities, and a culture where our team members are equipped with what they need to succeed - their way. Part of creating an inclusive workplace is recognizing our role in advancing Truth and Reconciliation. We are committed to meeting and exceeding the standards set out in the Partnership Accreditation in Indigenous Relations program created by the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business.

What happens next?
If you are shortlisted, you’ll hear from us after the posting closes. Check out our How We Hire page to learn more about our hiring process. If you need any accommodations throughout this process, please let us know at talentteam@atb.com
