About the Role
As ATB’s Strategy Manager with People Places & Spaces (PP&S), you will shape, articulate, and distill the overarching strategic vision, directional positioning, and frameworks for ATB’s PP&S portfolio. Reporting to the Managing Director, Strategy & Real Estate, you will partner closely with enterprise teams to understand and translate enterprise priorities into actionable PP&S strategies, take complex or ambiguous problems, and build end-to-end business cases and strategic roadmaps. Accountable for translating high-level enterprise goals into clear, actionable operational strategies, this role serves as the primary strategy narrative and visual storytelling partner to leadership - creating the strategy frameworks, recommendations, and presentation materials that enable high-impact executive decision-making.
Accountabilities
- Cross-Enterprise Alignment & Partnership: Serve as the primary strategy bridge between PP&S and partner business units, maintaining strong relationships to ensure cross-functional priorities and stakeholder needs inform early-stage strategy definition.
- Market Intelligence & Environmental Scanning: Own ongoing market sensing and trend analysis for PP&S. Monitor macro enterprise trends, corporate real estate shifts, and workplace innovations to feed actionable insights upward to leadership and into strategic planning.
- Strategic Frameworks & Enterprise Translation: Author and refine core PP&S directional strategies, translating overarching enterprise goals into clear operational roadmaps, strategic frameworks, and departmental guideposts.
- Business Case Development: Lead the authoring of robust business cases for strategic initiatives. Evaluate alternative approaches by comparing relative costs, benefits, and risks to justify business necessity before initiatives move into project delivery.
- Strategic Narrative & Data Synthesis: Partner closely with internal teams to extract the strategic "so what?" from quantitative utilization data, financial models, and market metrics - turning raw data into executive insights.
- Executive Presentation & Communication: Lead end-to-end visual storyboarding, deck creation, and strategic briefing materials for executive governance bodies and senior leadership. Translate complex strategic concepts and data into clear, compelling narratives tailored for diverse audiences, while managing the strategic administration and content design required for diverse audiences, including executive leadership, enterprise partners, and internal teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Distinctive Skills:
- Systems Thinking & Strategic Document Authoring: Proven capability to synthesize overarching vision, market trends, and interconnected variables into structured roadmaps and departmental North Stars, translating ambiguous enterprise challenges into publication-ready strategic documents, frameworks, and business cases.
- Executive Storytelling & Audience Translation: Exceptional ability to translate complex strategic concepts into the right format, visual depth, and messaging tone required for diverse audiences.
- Domain & Financials Acumen: Foundational understanding of financial services, corporate real estate, facilities management, and the built environment, paired with high-level financial literacy to evaluate costs, risks, and business value.
- Relationship Building & Curiosity: Proven ability to build trust, bridge operational silos, and act as an approachable strategic partner who listens first. Driven by a genuine curiosity to understand front-line realities, ensuring strategic frameworks serve as business enablement rather than top-down mandates.
- Executive Presence: High-level composure, diplomacy, and communication skills to engage senior leaders, build consensus, and synthesize complex strategic concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership consumption.
- Adaptability & Initiative: Thrives in a fast-paced, hybrid work environment, demonstrating self-starting behavior, conceptual agility, and the ability to adapt strategy frameworks to shifting enterprise priorities.
Education & Experience:
- Education & Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Corporate Real Estate, Strategy, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Strategy, or Change Management credentials) are considered an asset.
- Experience Level: 7–10 years of experience in strategic planning, corporate real estate, management consulting, or enterprise strategy formulation.
- Technical & Digital Proficiency: Proficiency with G-Suite tools (Google Slides, Sheets, Docs) and data analytics platforms, with an innate ability to translate complex data into clean visual presentation decks.
